Industrial Shed

Assignment Brief:

Design an Industrial Shed on the plot demarcated attached herewith upon Industrial zone in
Solhapur. The Unit has to be in congruence to the site planning and services for the specified
classification of the Industry.

The background and Case study dealt with understanding classification of Industries under the
category of

1. Automobile
2. Chemical
3. Food and Beverage
4. Agro -Based

Design any one type of industrial shed for the following industries

Chemical 2. Automobile 3. Food and beverage 4.Agro based

Assignment part (a): to select relevant case study and present it based on given parameters no of
slides not to exceed 5 mandatory requirement : remaining students review on 29th july

Considerations to Design a Industrial shed

Review 1

• On Monday 2nd August 2021 : production process to be explained in a visual tree diagram
showing sequence.
• Main layout on site showing
• Main Production Unit : sizes ( 25 MX45M, 30M X 55 M, 45x60, 45x75 ) depending on scale
and classification
• identified bays of structural grid or various systems of enclosure used if any with details of
modules
• manufacturer details and specification.

Working Details
Site plan :raw materials storage unit (18x30 M)
1. Industrial Shed (Size and Capacity)
2. Activity and Functions
3. Allied spaces
4. Enclosure systems(material and Technology)

The site plan to be drawn at the scale of 1:00 showing the following :

1. Circulation both Pedestrian and Vehicular

2. Main Production/ Processing Unit (Industrial Shed): all technical drawings to be detailed for the
unit in Review II

3. Raw material unit.

Allocation of Site and services to be shown with respect to 1. Water Supply UGWT including water
supply for daily human necessities like toilets and drinking water supply, provision of water supply
for production unit, site maintenance ,firefighting systems. ( Location and size dependent on type
and scale of industry) refer Solhapur Municipal corporation draft rules and regulations and NBC)
