- An organization, composed of numerous agencies led and
coordinated by the state’s leadership (executive authority), with the
ability or authority to create and implement the binding rules for all
the people as well as the parameters of rule-making for other social
organizations in a given territory, using force if necessary to have its
way.
- political entity bounded by a territory and headed by a
government.
→ What is a NATION?
- A complex phenomenon shaped by a collection of cultural,
political, and psychological factors
→ Both nation and state share the fact that they refer to a single
group of people despite the difference on how these groups are
organized, with one stressing a more cultural organization and the
other a more political one.
⮚ How is Nation- State created?
→ refers to a political unit with defined territory, government, and
constituents that more or less share the same culture and identity.
→ in a Nation-State, the political organization and the government

Spanish colonization. Singapore from the British. Vietnam from
French.

relatively delinked from territorial geography, so that human lives are
increasingly played out in the world as a single place.
→ What is its Positive and Negative effect?

exercised by these rulers; 3.) ideologies that guide the government
→ What are the 3 Basic Forms of Government:
1. Democracy – the rule of the people or the many
2. Oligarchy – the rule of the priviledge few
