The Consulting and Research Undertaking at XLRI (CRUX) was conceived with a vision to promote XLRI as a premier consulting
destination. In line with this dream, CRUX hosts several events, competitions and meetups aimed at honing the consulting skills of
our students and imbibing them with a competitive advantage in this area.
The CRUX mission is to develop long-term mutually beneficial relationships between XLRI and the consulting world, an endeavor
made easier with the help of several alumni holding leadership positions. To further this mission, the committee strives to
leverage our access to extensive knowledge resources and faculty expertise to offer consultancy and research services to start-ups
and other organizations.
CRUX maintains an active year-round presence in campus life with various events, sessions, workshops and business case study
competitions to introduce our student base to the world of consulting in engaging and insightful ways. We are the go to people
for help with all consulting needs, right from interview preparations, procurement of study material and industry insights. The
committee also co-hosts the annual national Consulting & Operations Management Conference, Synergy, which over the years has

A Year of Bringing the Indian Culture one step closer to the XL
Campus
SPICMACAY, XLRI Chapter waved in a vibrant year beginning with Saarang, the official ice-breaker for the junior batch of
2017 -2019. The event started with the Indian Culture quiz, which not only kept the quizzing circle in the campus awed,
but also served the committee’s noble cause of promoting Indian Arts and Culture in a fun and interesting way to the
youth. The rounds that followed reinstated that the tunes of Pandit Ravishankar’s Yaman Kalyan and the beats of Zakir
Hussain struck a chord in even the hardest fans of Eminem and Pink Floyd. The night was packed with interesting trivia,
role-plays, laughter and respect for Indian Arts and Culture.
With Saarang being a great success, applications flooded in from the newcomers to join the revered committee,
established pan India since 1977. Auditions, selections and discussions later, the Junior SPICMACAY squad was announced
and they were set to pull off the very first cultural night of the year. The night, fondly called ‘ XL’s Got Talent’ , was one of
its kind open mic night which provided stage to all talents including music, dance, drama, shayari, stand-up comedy and
more. The night also saw an exhibition of passionate works of eyes behind the lens.
Next up in our calendar was the most awaited Dandiya Night, an annual event conducted by SpicMacay to celebrate
the Gujarati tradition of Navratri and the glorious folk dance form Dandiya. The October night was lit up with students
