Objective This tool allows you to enter the MAC address of the instrument and the test of all hardware and
peripherals.
It should be particularly used in case of SBC9312 board replacement. This evolution is related to new
availability of MAC addresses.

1. Subject
The purpose of this kit is, in case of SBC9312 board replacement, to set up back the MAC address and test all
hardware and peripherals features.
It is delivered on a USB key, 4 Go, pre loaded with DAGNOSTIC software.
The modules are tested ones after the others. The course of the test follows the order of the below procedure.

An external keyboard (USB) is necessary to run this procedure.

2. Evolution and Corrected Bug


■ MAC addresses are unique.
■ MAC addresses start by the company ID 70-B3-D5.
■ MAC addresses are included between AB-80-00 and AB-8F-FF.

■ This diagnostic tool can now be used on the Micros Care ST instrument.
■ The software is available in English. You can choose between English or French languages.

■ Test RTC: you can now enter a date equal or above 2011.

3. Procedure
■ Connect the keyboard and the power supply cable.
■ Insert the USB key in the front USB port then turn ON the instrument.

3.1. Touchscreen Test

■A cross appears on the screen. Press the center of this cross to move to the next position.
Press the cross for each position.
The message Selectionner la langue/Please select the language appears.
■ Selectthe language.
The message Touchscreen calibrated, you can launch the tests appears.

If the touchscreen test fails, you are not allowed to correctly perform the rest of the procedure.

■ Click 2- SAV.

3.2. Printer and Barcode Reader

■ The messages Have you got a printer: Internal? External? and Have you got a barcode reader: Yes No appear.
■ Select your printer.
■ Declare or not your barcode reader.
■ Click Next.

3.3. Serial Number/MAC Address

■ Enter
your instrument number and the day. The serial number is located on a label under the instrument.
Example: Micros n: 7 06 ESO H 00008*
JOUR: 10 (actual day)

The MAC address appears.


Example 00:50:C2:58:93:F1
■ Click Next.

3.4. RTC EEPROM Test

■ Enter the date and time:


Date: 10 31 2006 (Month, day, year)
Heure: 10 36 52 (hours, minutes, secondes)
■ Click 1- RTC.
■ Click Next.

3.5. Screen Test

■ Click 1- Start the screen test.


■A black screen appears, check that there is no default (missing pixel, for example).
■ The screen Have you seen some default on the black screen? appears.
- Click 4- Start the test again to test the black screen.
- Click 2- Yes if you have seen some defaults.
The message Error ’’black test’’ failed appears.
Click Accept so that the diagnostic software goes to next test.
- Click 3- No if the black screen is correct.
■A red screen appears, then a green one and a blue one. Follow the same procedure for those screens.

■ For each color, check the three diffrent zones as follow:


- Zone 1: Progressive range from dark to clear.
- Zone 2: Range vertical dark/clear hatches.
- Zone 3: Diagonal dark/clear hatches starting with a dark triangle in the left upper corner.
■ The following message appears Have you seen some default on the test screen?.
- Click 4- Start the test again if you want to test the screen again.
- Click 2- Yes if you have seen some defaults.
The message Error ’’screen test’’ failed appears.
Click Accept so that the diagnostic software goes to next test.
- Click 3- No if the screen is correct.
■ Click 4- Start the test again to test the screen again, or click Next.
■ Click 1- Start the luminosity test.
■ The message Have you seen a luminosity change? appears.
- Click 4- Start again to run the luminosity test again.
- Click 3- No if you have not seen a luminosity change.
The message Error: luminosity test failed is displayed.
Click Accept so that the diagnostic software goes to next test.
- Click 2- Yes if you have seen a luminosity change.

3.6. Buzzer Test

■ Click Launch the buzzer test.


■ The following message appears Did you hear the 3 different frequencies?.
- Click 4- Start again if you want to test the buzzer again.
- Click 3- No if you did not correctly heard the buzzer.
The message Error: Buzzer test invalid appears.
Click Accept so that the diagnostic software goes to next test.
- Click 2- Yes if you heard correctly the buzzer.

3.7. Barcode Test

■ Click 1- Start the barcode reader test.


■ Waitfor the scanner initialization, then pass the following barcodes in front of the barcode reader, at a distance from
approximately 10 to 15 cm.
■ Check that all the barcodes are correctly read.

3.8. RS232 Ports Test

■ Plug a serial cable (DAC028A) between serial port 1 and serial port 2 at the rear of the instrument.
■ Click 1- Start the serial port test.
■ Click Next when it becomes green.

3.9. Memory Test

■ Select Disk on chip in the User choice column.


■ Click 1- Memory test.
■ Click Next when it becomes green.

3.10. RTC and EEPROM Test

■ Click Stop.
■ Turn the instrument OFF.
■ Unplug the serial cable (DAC028A) from the serial port 1 & 2 at the rear of the instrument (leave the USB key).
■ Turn the instrument ON.
The first screen displays the date and time of the instrument when it has been turned off and the date and time after
boot.
■ Click Next.
In order to test the ethernet connexion, the instrument should be connected to a PC by the mean of an ethernet cross
cable on the RJ42 port at the rear of the instrument.

■ Enter the IP address of the test computer and then click 2- IP fixe.
To get the IP address, the instrument must be connected to a PC and be turned ON.
- Click Start/Run on the computer.
- Enter cmd and click OK.
- Enter ipconfig and press Enter to display the IP address.
■ Click Next.
■ Click 3- Bypass if the instrument is not connected.

3.11. Printer Test

■ Click 1- Print results.


■ Check the correct printout of the results.
ok: test done and passed
nok: test done, but not passed
n/a: test for factory only or not
■ Click Turn off the ABX Micros ES60/ABX Micros ESV60.
■ Remove the USB key.
