Globalization will eventually lead to a complete loss of cultural identity.

In this era of modern technology, all of the people around the world can communicate

with the people who are living in a different country and share their traditional cultures via social

media platforms. Due to the development of technology, it can make our world into a small

village where all of the people know each other. While the majority of people are convinced that

globalization plays one of the major roles in fading the cultural identity of numerous ethnicities,

there might be some people who do agree with that statement.

To start with that, despite the fact that improving in travelling and communication bring

huge amounts of benefits for people, it also has some negative consequences which might affect

on losing cultural identities of different ethnics around the world. To be more specific, in this era

of modern technology, people can easily travel from one country to another by using modern

vehicles, moreover, they can also make friends with people from other countries on social media

by using the internet. This means that people can easily be influenced by others, especially, while

someone is sharing his or her own culture and that could be considered as a start of fading one’s

own cultural identity. To illustrate that, because of the influence of Korean culture on

Myanmar’s teenagers, the majority of adolescents tend to wear and eat like Korean people.

On the other hand, people might wear and consume as they like, however, it doesn’t mean

that one’s country is losing its cultural identity as it is much more than the clothes people wear.

When it comes to cultural identity, it is a legacy that came down from ancestors. In other words,

it can be considered as the heritage of one’s country, too. So, such a vital thing cannot be easily

faded out from someone due to globalization. Then, as a country, it is also crucial to maintain its

cultural identity and its government must raise people’s awareness about protecting these

identities. If it is so, losing one’s cultural identity might not exist in this era of globalization.
To sum up, in spite of having the potential of losing cultural identity, communicating

globally should be performed nationwide in order to enhance relationships with other countries

in the world and share culture. We should also think about the ways of how to protect losing our

own cultural identities, however.
