ABSTRACT
 Riders always felt a void in choosing a bike for multiple mobility .

 They need to choose a single bike for particular terrain.

 We are aiming to build a bike which will satisfy multiple terrain conditions.

 Concern will offer the options to choose different modes on same bike.

 Different modes will be Cruising, Racing and Off-roading.

 These modes will be achieved by adjusting the ground clearance, caster angle
and wheelbase.
INTRODUCTION

 In this proposed project the ultimate required result of varying the ground
clearance and wheelbase will be achieved by making modifications in the
available triple tree of motorcycle Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350.

 We are proposing to design a mechanism between the frame and front

suspension system which will provide variation in caster angle, ground
clearance and wheel base.

 In the racing mode the wheel base and caster angle will be maximum and
ground clearance will be minimum.

 In off roading mode the wheel base and caster angle will be minimum and
ground clearance will be maximum.
 The intermediate entity of these above modes will be used in cruising
mode.

In order to satisfy the demand of fabrication team, we are proposing

to design, analyze and select proper material which can withstand all
condition and required for the mechanism.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

Motorcycle riders have to compromise on ride handling and comfort

on motorcycles with specified single riding ergonomics.
OBJECTIVES.
 To study the existing motorcycles developed for multiple terrain
applications.

 To provide multi terrain mobility on a single bike without compromises

on handling and comfort.

 To design suitable mechanism required for project.

 To analyze the designed system as per required entities.

METHODOLOGY.

• Studying the available multi terrain bike.

1

• Analyzing the final mechanism

2

• Designing the mechanism

3

ADVANTAGES

This system will help the riders to ride comfortably and effectively on any
given road surface.

It’ll ensure effective application of any of the riding styles.

It’ll help shorter riders to tap into adventure riding, who cannot approach the
current spectrum of off-road and duel sport motorcycles due to their
intimidating seat heights.

It’ll take out the need for enhancing a motorcycle for a short period for a
specific ride.
FUTURE SCOPE.

 Different modes of power output according to the specific riding geometry

can be employed on the power train.

 Adjustable seat height included with adjustable foot pegs.

 Adjustable front visors ensuring various levels of wind protection and

minimum air resistance.
WORK COMPLETION TILL MARCH 2020
Result

A motorcycle which can cruise in a fast pace while providing the rider with
required comfort for long distance rides like a cruiser, while allowing them to
tackle corners like a sportsbike and take on rough terrains like an off-road
motorcycle.
CONCLUSION.

 This system will help the riders to ride comfortably and effectively on any
given road surface using any given riding style.

 It’ll help shorter riders to tap into adventure riding, who cannot approach
the current spectrum of off-road and duel sport motorcycles due to their steep
seat heights.
