Transition of data volume contain several phases :

1. Preparation
2. Datacopy
3. Precutover
4. Cutover

Durying the preparation phase you use the 7MTT to create transition session.
Use the tool to collect information about Data ontap 7mode, Cluster ontap systems,
Volumes and ip adresses

The tools then run transition precheck in preparation of Data copy operation.
The cluster volume is created as readonly volume

The tools collect the cluster at SVM information and add them to transition session
The tool also add the collected IP addresses to the SVM.

DATACOPY PHASE OF TRANSITION OF STANDALONE VOLUME

Copies data to cluster created during preparation stage.

Then disable administrative acess to cluster data ontap volumes
The tools creates the peering betwwen 7mode and cluster mode
Then snapmirror established between 7mode volume and cluster mode volumes
Cluster data ontap volume is periodically having the data with 7mode volumes
