From the report of 1980 Philippine census, out of 49.1 million Filipinos, 20.5 % or 9.8 million of
the population were composed of Filipino youth aged from 15 years old to 24 years old. Moreover, 5.3
million were in the 15 years old to 19 years old age range while there were 4.6 million who belonged to
the 20 to 24 years old age range. The Filipino youth population have grown widely at 3.2% growth rate
as compared to 1970.
