Introduction
The purpose of this proposal is to create a brand identity for Afterimage Documentary Films at
the University of North Florida. Based on research of Afterimage Documentary and other film
companies, we have constructed this proposal to create general business collateral to reinforce the
company’s brand recognition and identity. The logo design and brand identity will be used to spread
campus-wide awareness of Afterimage Documentary and to promote UNF Film Studies.
KLS Design Company is an up and coming design team from the University of North Florida. With
a wide range of talents, interests and backgrounds, KLS Design can meet any number of branding needs.
Our team members include Kristen Dutremble, Lexi Dupre and Steph Stiles. As current students in
Professional Communications, we possess the knowledge, training and resources to create a brand logo
to best reflect your company’s identity and mission.
Project Overview
Afterimage Documentary is a film company at UNF. In order to promote the work of Afterimage
Documentary with limited financial resources, we have chosen to utilize more economical methods of
branding that will appeal to college students and enhance their knowledge of what Afterimage
Documentary is. The goal is to garner interest in the UNF Film Studies program and to enhance student
awareness of the films created by Afterimage Documentary. By using merchandise to brand Afterimage,
we will appeal to the interests of college students. We will create and professional logo for business
collateral, such as letterheads, envelopes and business cards, and additionally we will create a logo for
merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, coozies, bags, hoodies and hats in order to appeal to UNF students.
Brand Identity
Our professional logo will be used only for business purposes. We chose to use simple, modern
fonts and black and white colors in order to enhance the logo’s professionalism and to eliminate
ambiguity. Because this logo will be used only for business documents, it is imperative that they look
professional. The black and white coloring also creates a good contrast between the logo and the paper.
Our merchandise logo will be used only for branding purposes to engage consumers (UNF
Students). We chose to include the graphic of the director’s chair and the reference to UNF to indicate
to students that Afterimage Documentary is a film company and that it is affiliated with the university.
This will engage students and heighten their interest in film studies. This logo can be changed to be any
colors desired for any particular use. Students at UNF historically respond well to merchandise and
material goods with this logo would allow Afterimage to expand their market and interest.
