Đề 1
Well, I’m going to share with you the book / the film that I was
really fond of reading / watching when I was a little boy ,
which is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s
a fantasy novel written by the British author J. K. Rowling,
and she has become really popular all over the world now
thanks to this fantastic series of books.
The book illustrates the school life of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and
his two best friends Ron and Hermione. Harry had a powerful enemy, the
Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort, who longed for immortality and to
rule the magic world.

I started reading this book when I was about 8 years old I think. At that
time, I was only beginning to improve my reading skills, and Harry Potter
was quite a thick book so it took me ages to get through it.

As a little boy , I didn’t understand all the details in the book but I truly
admired the story of Harry’s friendship with Ron and Hermione. And I
think it helped me to feel more confident to make friends with my
classmates, some of whom I still keep in touch with now. And I guess
that is the main reason why I appreciate this book so much.

Đề 2 :
I would like to talk about the wooden boat I created in my childhood when I
was 8 or 9 years old.

I saw a very nice looking boat in a toy store and had been fascinated to have
it. But the price was too high for me and I did not ask my parents to buy it for
me as I knew that it was very expensive. A few days later after my 5th-grade
final exam, I went to visit my grandfather’s house and planned to make a boat
similar to the boat I saw in the store. The original boat that I saw was made of
metal and plastic but I planned to make one using the board, wood. The plan
came to my mind as the woods and boards were available in my grandfather’s
house.

I started making the boat from my memory and found that I was making the
wrong one and I won’t be able to make the boat that I planned. I made a
sketch and then started building the parts. This time I was successful and I
had been able to make a nice looking boat. Later I coloured it and wrote my
name on it. This was a interesting experience as it was the first time I made
something from wood and board. Before that, I mostly made toys from papers
and after I made the boat, I showed it to everyone. I was very excited to have
it and I was proud that I had been able to make it. I had this toy with me for
one year or so this was a toy that inspired me to make some other toys that I
made later on.

I want to talk about the time I was preparing for the university entrance
exam, which until now is still the most important stage of my life. It actually
happened 5 months ago, but the feeling was so intense that everything is
still fresh in my memory. As you know, in Vietnam, the university entrance
exam has always been considered the most important examination in
anybody’s life, and mine was no exception. In my time, all students were
required to sit for an exam that covered the knowledge of 3 full years in
high school. It was too much for anyone to handle; the amount of things to
learn was so enormous that I remembered having to pull all-
nighters almost every day. Of course, the competition was fierce, I mean
you wouldn’t be admitted into the top schools unless your score were really
high.
Besides the stress of studying, I was also faced with the question of which
major to choose. For many, it was an easy pick, because they understood
where their strengths and interest lied. For me, I had no idea what I should
do in the future, so I was feeling on edge during the entire period before
the exam.
Frankly speaking , it was not an enjoyable time, but definitely a precious
memory to me. It was the first time I was ever involved in something that
had such a huge impact on my life. Through this, I had an opportunity to
have a closer look at my career orientation as well as my ability. It wouldn’t
be an exaggeration to say that I became an adult after this. That’s all I want
to share about this topic.

Life has given me a lot of happiness and moments to celebrate with my near and
dear ones. I have celebrated many happy moments by hosting parties for someone
and attending other people’s parties as well.
I have attended many parties on different occasions in my life but the most enjoyable
one was a party that I held to mark my elder sisters twenty-fifth birthday. It was a
surprise party that I planned with the help of my mother. After my sister left for work
in the morning I started decorating our garden and installing the setup including the
tables and chairs. My mother started baking her favourite chocolate cake while I
called all her friends and our relatives to the party in the evening. And then I
proceeded to order snacks and appetizers along with the beverages for the evening.
The celebrations finally started and all the guests had arrived before she came. We
welcomed her with the birthday song and hugs from everyone.
We had an amazing time at the party. We played party games, danced and had a lot
of fun throughout the evening. The best part was the fact that everyone was happy
with the celebration and there were smiles all around me. My sister got gifts from
everyone and was smiles when I gifted her a necklace. For me to say it was a
memorable party

Well, this topic instantly makes me think about Hoi An which is for sure on top of
my list as one of the most beautiful cities in Vietnam. Hoi An Old Town is located in
Quang Nam Province - in central Vietnam, which is an exceptionally well-
preserved example of a South East Asian trading port dating from the 1st to
the 19th century. Since then, it has been successful in preserving and restoring
its charming roots and has been declared as UNESCO Heritage Site.  had a
whale of a time visiting Hoi An with my best friends on a beautiful summer
day a couple of years ago. It was actually a part of our trip to Da Nang.  I would
describe Hoi An in 2 words “graceful and charming”. You know unlike the huge
sprawling metropolis of Hanoi or HCM City, the whole town is filled with single-
storey buildings with beautiful timber framed, painted mango yellow roofs
looking like pagodas. Some notable heritage buildings that attract us are a
Japanese-designed bridge,  assembly halls several centuries ago.

I believe those distinctive features clearly show Chinese, Japanese and French

colonial which really make Hoi An become such a tranquil place. You can
literally get a sense of history because tradition is still very much alive in this
tiny town.

What I absolutely love about Hoi An is how peaceful it is. You know, you
can enjoy a stroll around because vehicles are not allowed during day time. So
you can feel the slow pace of life in all its beautiful corners.

Also, the Riverside is the best place to be at night as the entire area is lit
by quaint and old-fashioned lanterns, making it an atmospheric spot.

I would highly recommend anyone should put Hoi An in your must-visit

list because simply, it is a beautifully preserved historical town and deserves to
be one of Asia’s most memorable destinations.

Bus is a common vehicle in my hometown and I often use it to travel to
different parts of the city. I often use this bus to reach my university/
workplace and to return home. On average, I use this transportation 3-5 days
a week.  bus in my city is a cheap way to travel compared to other forms of
transportations like the taxi, shuttle train, or private car. bus is cheap, easily
available and a safe transportation system for me. I do not have to wait for a
long to catch a bus and it has a diverse route throughout the city which
makes it an ideal form of transportation for the city people. Most of the time, I
enjoy my journey in these buses especially when I can get a seat beside the
window of the bus.

I can watch the natural scenarios besides the roads and the ticketing system
of this bus has become online. I can get tickets or a pass card the tram bus
from home using the internet and that is another reason I prefer this
transportation system over other available forms of transportation in my city.

Today I’m going to tell you about one of the biggest, oldest traditional festival and has the
widest popular range in Vietnam, which is Tet Holiday.
Tet marks (=celebrates) the arrival of spring and is the most important celebration in
Vietnamese culture and it has the date falling in (which falls in) = takes place around late
January or early February according to the Lunar Calendar.
Tết is also an occasion for family reunions. When Tet comes around the corner, most
Vietnamese people return to their families to visit their family members, to worship at the
family altar or visit the graves of their ancestors in their homeland as a sign of respect.
Many Vietnamese people prepare for Tet by cooking special holiday food which includes giò,
xôi, canh măng anh banh chung - a necessary dish that is tightly packed sticky with meat
and mung beans filling, wrapped in banana leaves
Traditionally, every household is decorated by yellow apricot blossoms (hoa mai) in the
central and the southern parts of Vietnam; or peach blossoms (hoa đào) in the northern
part.
Many customs are practiced around Tet. Children often receive a lucky money containing
money from their elders after giving them traditional Tet greetings. During Tet days people
also visit relatives and friends to wish them all a happy new year. Local pagodas are popular
spots as well, as people go there to wish for a better year to come for their families.
Tet holiday is the only occasion that people that people start forgetting about the troubles
of the past year and hope for a better upcoming year.

I love listening to music, so I like many songs. However, one of my
favorite songs that I want to talk about today is road of win by mỹ
tâm perform . This song was written for the 2003 vietnam team
Games.

When it came out, it quickly became a hit on every single music

chart throughout vietnam, not just because of its catchy melody,
but also for its meaningful lyrics. The song talks about how each of
us can be a champion or anything we want to be as long as
we dedicate our time and efforts to doing what we are passionate
about. The song is played at big stage events to pump up the
crowd, but you can easily relate to the song at other times as well,
especially when you are about to give up.

I think this song has such a powerful message that whenever I was
tired or had decided to quit, it would lift me up right away. It made
me think about why I had started in the first place and that I needed
to finish the job that I was currently

I have some different electronic devices such as a stereo, and MP3 player, a
laptop and the alike Well, I would like to start off by talking about an electronic
device I use very often its called ipad pro
As far as I remember, I have bought this tablet for 1 years ago . Even though at
that time, I had some other devices already, but I still decided to purchase it
because I found it very interesting to have something like both a smart phone
and a mini laptop.
I am a student and have to spend a lot of time on learning every day, so I have
to admit that I do not usually use it. Only in the evening before I go to bed or on
weekends when I am home do I use it.
Basically, I use my tablet for reading e-books because it can contain a great deal
of books. Also, I frequently check my emails on it and learn English via English
learning websites.
Now if I still have time, I am going to explain why I often use this device. I am
keen on using this item for several reasons. The first reason is that I am a big
reader and I spend most of my free time reading. I am very pleased when this
device can store so many books which I can read at any time and I do not have
to carry heavy paper books like I used to do. Another reason is probably
because I can keep up with the latest news using the internet on this device.
That’s all. Thank you for listening.
Đề 25 a sport event you watched
I’m not actually very interested in sport, but there was an occasion a few years ago when I went
to see a football match in a town about half an hour from where I live. It was a charity match – I
think they were collecting funds for the local school – and it was very well attended. I think there
must have been over 5,000 people there

I only went because a friend of mine really wanted to go but didn’t want to watch it on his own
and his brother on teams , so it made a lot more fun to have a team to support
Although I did enjoy it, it hasn’t made me want to go back and see another game – it was good
fun mostly because of the people I was with – we were only half focused on the game and spent
the rest of the time just chatting or eating – we’d taken a picnic with us and it was a beautiful day!
After the match, we met a lot of new people in the park – most people stayed for at least a few
hours after the game just enjoying the sunshine.
As I mentioned, I’m not that interested in sport, but I do watch some of the asia football games .
it makes me hectic than watch live on stadium When viet nam won the aff cup not too long ago,
there was a small group of vietnamese people in my town that had a 24 hour party and invited
everyone – it was such a good atmosphere

Đề describe an advertisement
Alright I am going to talk about a memorable ad that I remember well,
although it was aired quite a while ago. The advertisement is about
Comfort, related to fabric softener liquid made by a company called
Unilever.
Honestly, I am not entirely sure when I first saw this advertisement. If I’m
not mistaken, it was a couple of years ago when TV commercials were in
their prime. The advertisement is so memorable that sometimes I still look it
up on YouTube to show friends what a good ad looks like.
The most interesting thing about this ad is its meaningful message. While
other commercials at the time tended to be short and focused on humor to
attract customers, Unilever paid attention to the content and built a story
around Lily, a caring housewife, and Andy, a famous rock star. Despite his
fame and success, Andy never forgets his family, because deep down he
always feels his partner’s love just from the smell of Comfort’s long-lasting
freshness. The company even created a series of ads, instead of just one,
to deliver the message better. I think this was a costly but effective
strategy, as Comfort soon became a household name after this campaign.

Đề 27 a teacher

I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to have been taught and guided by some excellent
teachers throughout my academic life. Among them, I'd like to talk about Mr Smith, who has
been an extraordinary teacher, a really good mentor and who has a great influence on my
studies.

I met Mr Smith for the first time when I was in fourth grade. He was our math teacher.
Initially, we thought that he would be a tough teacher and we would have to be very polite in
front of him. We got this impression mostly because of his serious face and tidy dress-up.
But soon we found that he was a very friendly person and we did not have to be "very polite"
with him. He never made things complicated and tried over and over again to explain
something to us. He had a unique way of teaching and could explain complex topics very
easily, so everything we learned from him was interesting and that's why we remember most
of the theories and techniques of math he taught us.
I'd say he has a great influence on my education because he helped me build a strong
foundation in mathematics. My major in high school was ngữ văn so I faced a lot of
problems with math . Before I learned math from Mr Smith, my impression on math was not
good and I considered mathematics to be a complex and uninteresting subject. But his
teaching and influences changed my way of thinking about math and later on, math became
my one the most favourite subjects for which I admire him greatly.

Đề 28 zoo
Actually I very loves animals, I once paid a visit to the zoo in safari , One of the
largest I have ever seen..
I visited the zoo on a Sunday together with a few of my friends. After leaving
our homes early in the morning we reached the zoo before noon. We then bought
our tickets and entered the zoo.  The first thing that impressed me, as we entered
the zoo, was its size and beauty. I could hardly believe that a zoo could be so large. I
saw many kinds of plants and flowers all round. I also saw some lakes in which
ducks of various kinds were swimming. After visiting another cage the visitor has to
walk a short distance to reach the next cage. In this way one has to spend more time
resting here and there to visit all the cages. Walking round the zoo therefore
becomes more interesting.
My friends and I, however, visited the monkeys first. They were of various
types from different parts of the world. They were all very active, though they had
been confined(1) to their cages for a long time. Then, we went to the places where
the tigers and the lions were kept. These animals did not seem to be active like the
monkeys. They were all lying down and looking at the visitors without any interest. I
was a little surprised at their coolness(2).
After that we saw the other animals, reptiles(3) and birds. Their variety was
amazing. We were all deeply interested in their behaviour and movements within
their cages.
Then, alter spending several hours in the zoo, we went out and had a
refreshing drink of coconut water(4). After that we returned home, feeling very happy.
Đề movie
Well, I’m going to talk about the 2017 Beauty and the Beast remake which I think is
one of the best movies that I’ve ever seen.

You know, I’m a big fan of Emma Watson and I remember I was really excited when
I knew Emma was going to play Belle in the film. Speaking a little bit of what the
film is about, well, it’s about the love between a beautiful, but special girl named
Belle and a beast who used to be a handsome prince, but, you know, because of
his arrogance and vanity, he and all of the people in his castle were punished
by an enchantress by witch and the people in his castle into living objects. She gave
him an enchanted rose and she said if he couldn’t learn to love a girl and earn her
love in return until the last petal fell, he would remain a beast forever.

You know, what I learn about the film is that it teaches me how to become an
independent person and how to see the good in people despite their appearances.

I’ve learned a lot from the character Belle who you know is a very strong and
independent woman. What I learn from Belle is that we need to stay who we
are and do the things that we think are right, even when everyone seems to be
against us.

And another thing that I learn from Belle is that we should not judge a person just
by his or her appearance, for beauty is found within – this is a quote from the film
that I really love.

Actually, I’ve learned a great deal from other characters too, but I know that I don’t
have enough time to talk about all of it. So, in summary, Beauty and the Beast is one
of the greatest movies that I’ve ever seen.

I would like to talk about a sport that I particularly enjoy and have been
practising for a few years. It is badminton. For me, badminton is not only a
sport or a physical exercise but also an ideal way for me to relieve of stress
and make new friends.
I first knew about badminton when I was a little kid. However, at that time I
did not play badminton on a regular, because I was not fully aware of the
importance of physical exercises, but also because I was not able to find
any friends to play it with me. When I went to high school, a lot of my
friends were a big fan of badminton and my high school offered big
playgrounds for sports activities, therefore I practised badminton much
more often.
I usually play badminton in the weekends when I have large amounts of
free time. I often go to sports centres with a number of my classmates for
badminton matches. Sometimes we choose other kinds of sport such as
football and basketball instead of badminton.
For me, badminton is a good way to help me pursue a healthy lifestyle. It is
also an affordable type of sport as you do not have to buy a lot of
specialised sports materials. Finally, playing badminton enables me to
develop a number of important and non-academic skills such as discipline,
team-work, problem-solving and co-operation
Đề shop
Well, my most favorite shop is called Hi-tech shop, which is a kind of electronic shop, specializing
in electronic appliances, household and office appliances in particular. Speaking of the
frequency, well, whenever I need to buy some daily essential appliances, it will be my first
choice. So it depends on my personal needs. When it comes to shopper, basically, it is attractive
to people from all walks of life, such as students, clock punchers, bargain shoppers or even
housewives. I have a fancy for this online shop for some reasons.
Firstly, I feel that the abundance of products is really appealing to purchasers. So how could
come in handier than visiting one store covering all kinds of electronic products such as mobile
phones, cameras, computers, fans, refrigerators, and so on like this? I remember visiting this
store for the very first time with my buddies, we had an intention for go window-shopping but it
turned out to shop till we drop.
Besides, I also consider that price is lowest. The price is generally 1/4less than the surrounded
stores, along with intruging promotion. I’m not the kind of haggler, therefore I find low price is
really attractive for individuals sharing the same intention with me.
What matters most is that quality can be guaranteed. You know, if the product delivered is not as
promised, customers can return it, which is really trustworthy. It was 3 years ago when I
purchased a keyboard hereand unfortunately it’s had it. Afterwards, I was allowed to make an
exchange for a better product without any fuss.

I am more like a casual person when it comes to dresses. Of course, different

people have different ideas about being casual. But, as far as I am concerned,
my idea of being casual is to wear blue jeans and a light t-shirt with a collar,
which also happens to be my favourite dress, by the way. So, today I would
like to talk about this favourite dress of mine which I like to wear, well, pretty
much all the times.

Now, of course, just because I said that I like to wear it all the times, it doesn’t
necessarily mean that I do wear it all the times. Rather, I meant to say that I
like to wear this favourite dress of mine as often as I could unless, of course,
there is any bar or restriction on wearing them. So, if you ask me when
precisely I like to wear them, I would say that I like to wear them when I am
visiting any friend’s place, doing my groceries and shopping,  going to a
stadium to enjoy a good game or picking up my little sisters from her
elementary school. Besides, I like to wear them even when I am going to
attend a party, casual or not, at some restaurants or party centres. So, I
guess, it is fair to say that I wear them every day unless I am attending a
formal meeting with my teacher in work, and other than that meeting thing, I
always go to the work in my blue jeans and light colour t-shirt.

Anyway, this particular dress is so special to me, primarily because they are
easy to wear and keep me relaxed and comfortable in all kinds of weather
unless, of course, it is too cold outside. I prefer them so badly also because I
don’t really have to try too hard to keep them reasonably clean and tidy, no
matter what I do or where I go. Finally, I find them so special because I don’t
really have to worry about wasting my time in ironing them even when I go
outside.

Đề holiday
A few months ago, I went to the South of Vietnam for a vacation with my family. It’s
was to the lovely coastal city of Nha Trang, which is also a very famous tourist
destination. We decided to go there by plane since it is nearly 1200 kilometres from
Hanoi, and would take a long time by car or train.
I was so eager for the trip that I prepared everything such as my clothes, camera and
other accessories a week in advance. It took about an hour to fly there, and luckily,
the flight took off on time. The trip began with an incredible view from the airplane
window and I can still remember being quite overwhelmed by the beauty of my city
from above and the amazing sunset.
The time we spent in Nha Trang was a blast. We got to try out so many new things
such as skydiving, surfing, and diving to see the coral reef. This place has one of
the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam with deep blue water and pearly-white sand.
Also, the food there was so unique and delicious. I think the most memorable
moment of that trip though was definitely when we bought fresh ingredients from a
local market and grilled them by the beach. Sitting there by the fire on a breezy night
with the delicious smell freshly barbequed fish was an amazing experience.
The trip to Nha Trang really was the holiday of a lifetime. We had a lot of fun and got
to see a lot of spectacular scenery. We definitely enjoyed it and we will definitely go
there again if we have a chance.

I am going to talk about my mother who has played an essential role in my life. She
is my guardian, my friend and my role model.
My mother is in her forties now, but she still maintains a youthful look. In terms of
personality, she is an extremely compassionate and kind-hearted person who
always takes care of her children. She really is a mother and a friend to me as she
always gives me valuable advice and is willing to stand by me through all the ups
and downs of my life. Although sometimes she drives me crazy due to her being a
perfectionist, I still hold so much pride and respect for her.
I am also influenced by her strong-will. Ever since she was young, she had to learn
to be independent as my grandparents were very busy and constantly on the go.
She had to take care of almost everything: her younger brother, household chores
and herself. Such challenges shaped her into the strong person that she is now.
Her determination, as well as her perseverance, are really something for us to look
up to. And I keep reminding myself every day to be as strong as my mother, a real-
life “wonder woman.”
