1. Discuss the relationship of Science, Technology, and Society.

Science is the study of the natural world by collecting data through a systematic process called
the scientific method. And technology is where we apply science to create devices that can
solve problems and do tasks. Technology is literally the application of science

In today's world, the role of science and technology is indispensable. We need Science and
Technology in every sphere of our life like to treat diseases such as cancer or even to book a
cab or train/flight ticket. In fact, without technology (integrated with science), we cannot imagine
our life per se.
2. Give three other major scientific and technological developments in the
world or in the Philippines that created a large impact on your daily life.

Clock, telephone,light bulb

3. What historical antecedents gave rise to the inventions you mentioned in

the first question?

1. Clock
Clocks are instruments that measure and show the time. So before, humans have been
measuring time in various ways, some include tracking the movements of the sun with
sundials, the use of water clocks, candle clocks, and hourglasses.

sundial is a device that indicates time by using a light spot or shadow cast by the
position of the Sun on a reference scale.

water clocks, where the rising waters would both keep time and eventually hit a
mechanical bird that triggered an alarming whistle.

candle clocks-with a measured rate of burn, was a means of determining the time at
night.
Hourglass- hourglass comprises two glass bulbs connected vertically by a narrow neck
that allows a regulated trickle of material, usually sand, from the upper bulb to the lower one.

2. Telephone
Before, we've connected over mountains, across oceans, and to opposite ends of the world.
We can convey important information quickly and efficiently, and now, with cell phones and
smartphones, we can send important data, capture memories, and explore the Internet, all from
our mobile phone
3. Light bulb
An electric light bulb has been called the most important invention since man-made fire. The light
bulb helped to establish social order after sundown, extended the workday well into the night, and
allowed us to navigate and travel safely in the dark. Without the light bulb, there would be no
nightlife.

How did developments in Science and Technology shape human history

Development in science and technology shaped human history in many ways. It enabled us to share
ideas much faster around the country and then around the world. (Now we’re transmitting messages
into space in the hope that we’ll contact someone there.) That started with the wheel, which also
allowed us to establish economies with other places, carting our supplies to and fro. We developed
boats that let us actually cross oceans, exchanging supplies and ideas and animals.

When the technology became weapons, it enabled us to conquer other countries and kill far more
people far more rapidly.

“SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN SOCIETY”

From my perspective kasi pag SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN SOCIETY ito yung impact ng
science and technology sa society or kung paaano nga ba tayo naapektuhan or kung pano
nnakabuti at nakatulong ito sa ating pamumuhay.

“SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WITH SOCIETY”

Dito naman, para sakin pag sinabing SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WITH SOCIETY ay yung pag
create ng something or pag solve ng problem through a systematic process which includes the
society or being considering the society.

“SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR SOCIETY”

Ina apply natin yung science and technology sa ating pamumuhay, kasi nga diba yung science ay
pag collect ng data then yung technology naman ay pag apply ng science para makagawa ng isang
bagay or makpagsolve ng problems, which is ina apply naman nating yung device na yun or solution
sa ating daily livings.
