1. Scope
This procedure covers the minimum requirements for handling and installing raceway and associated above
ground earthing. Job Hazard Analysis for raceway installations covers the ES&H risks and mitigation for this
scope of work.

6. Erection process
The truck loaded with the material will arrive to the erection area and the load will be downloaded in a stack,
easy to reach but at a distance from the work area so not to hinder movement of the crane, MEWPs etc.
After the departure of the truck the barrier of red/white tape must be completed and no one except the
worker is allowed in the area. Attention must be paid not to have, at any time, workers under suspended
loads or under the section of the pipe rack where the cable-tray is being mounted.
The crane will be positioned with all outrigger properly deployed in a position suitable to mount 3 cable-tray
elements without need of repositioning it.
Two crews, following all HSE requirements, will operate on MEWPs to perform the mounting activities above
ground
Each element will be rigged with two slings and lifted in position where the workers will bolt it to the adjacent
elements and to the supports.
Note: The inner part of the race way must be free from obstructions, so the bolt round head must always be
on the inside of the raceway with all the rest outside.
All bolts must be tightened to the final value of 46 N/m using a dynamometric wrench.
Lift of the first element or a line: the crane will hold it in place as a precaution against accidental fall till the
element is bolted to the supports. Only then, the sling will be removed and the crane crew will proceed to rig
and lift the second element.
Lift of the following element: the crane will lift it and hold it in place for precautionary measure till bolted to
the plate and connected to the previous module. Only then the sling will be removed and the crane crew will
proceed to rig and lift the following piece, while the fitters complete all the bolting activities.
In the case that an element needs to be cut to size the it will be cut on the ground, using preferably a band-
saw; in its use is not possible a reciprocating saw will be used, but not a cutting disk.
In case of cuts or drilling the metal will be retouched with zinc paint, applied by brush.
At every joint the two adjacent elements must be connected with a prefabricated earthing jumper and every
30 meters a 35mmq descent will be bolted to the raceway and reach the ground, where it will be connected to
the existing ground with a crimped C-clamp.
Every time the crane is repositioned the soft barrier will be sized accordingly.
8. Progress Reporting
Subcontractor will submit daily with time sheets construction progress per the rules of credit. Set-route cards
will be utilized for tracking progress of commodities in Set-route (schedule raceway). For raceway not in Set-
route (unscheduled) Subcontractor to report on Contractor supplied template progress at the drawing level.
Progress to be entered by Subcontractor administrative staff into Contractor database daily and reported
weekly.
