 Subject: Report on Meeting at Rotary Bangalore Udyog on 18/02/2020

Dear sir,
I Rtr. Yasir K P (President 19-20) of Rotaract Club of AIMS was invited to the meeting by
Rotaract Chair Rtn. Panchanathan on 17/02/2020, and He said it would be a review
meeting. I had replied to him saying that all my board members would not be able to
attend the meeting as internship and classes, also requested him to postpone to weekends of
march. Despite all he insisted on attending the meeting. So me and Rtr. Rafiullah (ISD 19-
20) went to attend the meeting.

The meeting started at 5:00pm. Rtn. Arun questioned me about how my Rota year and
club is functioning, I said that everything is great and happy. Rtn. Arun said I am not
following the chain of command and they are disappointed with it. He also asked if I am
getting support from Udyog. He said I not able to control my board and that’s why IPP
Rtn. Renukeshwaraswamy gets to know everything that we as a club are doing and
achieving. That’s when they got to the point and said that the problem is with
Renukeshwar sir staying in touch with us. Rtn. Arun said IPP Rtn. Renukeshwar is not
“mature” enough to understand and I should restrict my club members from sharing
things to Renukeshwar sir. Rtn. Arun said officially Renukeshwar sir isn’t supposed to stay
in touch with us. Rtn. Arun also told “ What does Renukeshwar know about Rotaract?, if
me and Abhay had started, it would have been so much better. Renukeshwar is just a 3
year old Rotarian, and I am in Rotary for past 30 years. It’s all because of her, I don’t
know what is wrong with that geeta lady”. President Rtn. Arif told that he is not
pampering as Rtn. Renukeshwar but he has helped us in his way and I said that I am
thankful and never complained about anything. Rtn. Arif sir told he has given 14,000 for
conference registrations, and I had sent him all 71 member’s details who are attending
conference through mail and also everyone registered had attended the conference for
which we had received an award for “Most Consistent Participation”. Rtn. Arun then said
me to control my board and restrict them from sharing anything about Rotaract to anyone.
I am deeply saddened by his statements as he spoke without respect and regards to both
our Faculty Coordinator Prof. Geetanjali madam and our mentor Rtn. Renukeshwar sir.
Taking names of people who started and introduced Rotaract Club in our lives were
spoken about without respect. Rtn. Renukeshwar sir has been a mentor for us all this time,
who can have approached for any guidance and help we need. Our club has always been
attending Udyog meetings and Rtn. Arun Belur said that we only go there when we need
funds for our projects. It was insulting to listen to all of this being children of Udyog. We
have always represented ourselves as Rotaractors of Udyog in district and to outside world,
we were proud being Rotaractors of Udyog. We have won 4 awards last year and one
among them was for “The Best Rotary – Rotaract relationship” and this year after 6
months we also have won 4 awards. The meeting was not at all about talking, it was
shouting at us in loud voice. In the end of the meeting they told me to keep away IPP of
Udyog and IPP Rtr. Chetan of My Club. And while leaving I was shouted at for not
attending Udyog meetings, but I had informed Rtn. Panchanatan (Rotaract Chair) the
reason by which we weren’t able to attend during this month. Rtn. Shashidhar sir had told
that Rtn. Panchantan had felt bad by the response of ours in the group for his message, but
I have replied to his message and we didn’t have any intention of hurting anybody. Rtn.
Arif was unaware of the whatsapp group that his board members used to communicate to
us and for that he asked me why I didn’t add him when I was not even an admin in the
group. The whatsapp group is named as “RBU Rotaract Club” and the president was not
added to the group by other board members and they were shouting among themselves
regarding this in front of us.

All the above details are the exact same words spoken by Rtn. Arun Belur and the others
who have attended the meeting.

Me and my board members do not deserve to be shouted at and insulted by all of them.
And inferring that IPP Rtn. Renukeshwaraswamy, Prof. Geetanjali G, IPP Rtr. Chetan
Gowda, our club and myself as incompetent in what we have done was insulting. All
communication was passed in the group that was used to communicate to us, and still we
were blamed. We were not supposed to be called and met for an issue among Rotarians.
When I discussed this with my board, we have decided to take it forward to all Past
presidents of Rotary Bangalore Udyog and District officials.

Dear DRCC Rtn. John Bruno,

Greetings from Rotaract Club of AIMS.

We have a major issue with our parent Rotary Club (Rotary Bangalore Udyog). Few
Rotarians of Udyog had called us for a meeting and spoke abusively without respect.

PP Rtn. Arun Belur has spoken about our Club, IPP, Faculty coordinator, current and
previous Board members insultingly and without respect.

I've discussed this issue with DRR and ZRRs, I have also reported this issue to past
presidents of Rotary Bangalore Udyog but unfortunately we received no support from the
past presidents.

DRR Rtr. Shashi Kumar has advised me to bring this issue to your notice.

Please find the attachment of details and minutes of meeting.

I request you to take action and we want a formal written apology from all the Rotarians
who were involved in that meeting. The apology must be presented to my board members
by Rotarians of Udyog.

We as a Club always believed in the Rotary four way test and such behaviour is not
acceptable.

We hope you would take action on this matter and do the needful.
