Dave: Hi Elvin, long time no see!

Elvin: Hi Dave, how are you?

Dave: I'm very good, thank you. And you?
Elvin: I'm very good too…
Dave: I'm glad for you.
Elvin: Wow! Is this your new house?
Dave: No, I’m just looking after it while my neighbors are away. They’re travelling
to Mexico at the moment.
Elvin: Oh, I see. Such a gorgeous interior! Your neighbors must be really rich.
Dave: They are pretty well-off, but surprisingly simple people. They’ll never look
down on you or anything like that…
Elvin: I’ll go look around, if you don’t mind. Oh, it’s their library. Stunning! They
have an amazing collection of books about art.
Dave: Yeah, Mr Hernandez is a scholar, and he even lectured at one of the
Mexican universities before he retired. He’s a smart fellow. I really look up to him.
Elvin: I’d like to look through these books on the Mayan culture for my college art
project. I just spotted a few books that I didn’t manage to find in the library. Let me
see… what do they have here?
Dave: Look out! Something’s falling on you!
Elvin: Oops! Oh well… Let me look at the cover. Hey, it’s the book on Frida Kahlo
I’ve been looking for!
Dave: In other news, how are you getting on with your son? He’s in his teens,
right?

Elvin: Right. He’s thirteen actually. We basically get along well, we have
arguments sometimes… Why are you asking?

Dave: Mine is fifteen, and I’ve been having trouble with him lately. He’s always
getting up to something naughty and complains that I am always getting at him!

Elvin: Are you?

Dave: Well, at times. I can’t get over how much time he spends hanging out with
his friends or playing video games. He sometimes doesn’t get around to doing his
homework for hours… But he needs to study! I doubt he will get thugh his exams at
all.

Elvin: I think you should just talk it over… And try to get your point across carefully.
These teenagers are so sensitive and quick-tempered.

Dave: Ok, I’ll try to. Who knows, maybe I’ll manage to get through to him.

Elvin: What do you think if one day we go together to play basketball?

Dave: Yes of course.
