I. Background of the Project

Waste management is important for environment particularly in School and in long
term it might affect climate. Waste management deals with a lot of things and a lot of
materials. But plastic waste is very critical since it is non-biodegradable and can become
toxic for the soil, water and air. This proposal talks about the idea of establishing a
particular means of proper plastic waste disposal through the application of “4Rs” Reuse,
Reduce, Recycle and Recover which run by School Internal and External Stakeholders
including the pupils that would deal only with waste plastic aesthetically.

A school will be established School-Community Material Recovery Facilities that

will served as the Recycle Bin of the plastic waste within the community. Moreover, the
school would collect waste plastic from the local communities and use these plastics for
creating various types of artwork. Anyone can make good things with customized new
plastics, but this school would deal with the challenge of making beautiful things with not
so beautiful waste plastic. There will be teachers, students and stakeholders who would
work to develop and promote this Acts of Goodness. Besides, this school would have an
office that would be open for people to donate their plastic wastes. The school would
collect the plastic waste, keep them in the inventory and supply them to the teachers and
students for use. The school would also promote the idea of better management and
recycling of plastic wastes and advocate for environment preservation.

II. Objective of the Project

1. To educate the pupils on proper waste management with the use of

“4Rs’”.
2. To boost school-community partnership in preserving the Mother Earth.
3. To maintain and sustain the conducive to learning school environment
and community with the Eradication of Plastic Advocacy.

III. Significance and Relevance of the Project

Eradication of Plastic Advocacy; A School Waste Segregation Management

Policy, Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 is so profound in its
mandate and policy, yet, it is not seriously or fully implemented. This problem is
so prevalent among schools where school and community stores nearby are
selling goods and foods/drinking stuff. Plastics are everywhere, though swept
and disposed before the end of the days. Through this project the use of plastics
in school will gradually eradicate. It would reduce the stockpile of solid wastes in
schools. It will also deepen the ecological awareness among students that would
lead its replication to their respective communities, thereby helping gradually
the easement of ecological problem.

IV. Beneficiary of the Project

This will benefit both the school and community populace because it will
result to a cleaner school-community environment free of plastics. A clean
school means the school has a motivating learning environment. Moreover,
These acts of goodness imbued with the core values such as Maka-Diyos,
Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa that would contribute better nation
building. If this project is realized, it could be fully oriented on the ill effects in
the use of plastics not only on the issue of cleanliness but also on health and
ecological concerns in general. When these values are imbedded, it will
eventually cause ripple effect to the community – making the community
members fully aware and conscious and do the same, discard and avoid the
use of plastics in their homes.
