Electrical Function
Electrical Function
When the lock/unlock side of the door lock control switch is turned on, all the doors are locked or unlocked.
All the doors are locked/unlocked when the is placed into the key cylinder of the driver's/front passenger's door and rotated to lock/unlock.
This is the unlock function using the key. When a key is used to unlock a door, the first unlock action merely opens that door mechanically. With
the second unlock procedure, other doors are opened.
Because of the key confine prevention circuit, operating the door lock knob to the lock position (with the door lock position switch off) unlocks
all the doors when the driver's door is open and the key is left in the ignition key cylinder. When the door lock control switch is turned on to lock
the door in the scenario described above, if the key confine prevention circuit is activated, all of the doors are locked and unlocked once.
5 security function
To prevent the door from being unlocked by operating the door lock control switch with a bar or equivalent in the space between the door glass
and the door sash when the window is left open, performing a lock operation with any means other than a door key or transmitter will set the
door lock security function and invalidate the unlock operation by the door control switch.
When the key-off power window is enabled, the power supply to the power window system is controlled by the key-off relay in the integration
relay in some door lock control systems.
Mechanical function (one motion open function)
1 integration relay ( door lock ECU)
Each door lock assembly gets lock/unlock signals from the integration relay, which drives the door lock control motor for each door.
Each door is locked and unlocked by the door lock assembly. Electrically engaging the built-in door lock control motor can also lock/unlock the
doors.
If the key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder, the key unlock warning switch detects it.
In some circumstances, the MPX's body ECU controls the lock/unlock action (multiplex communication system).
The door lock actuators are controlled by the door lock control motors. The rotation of the door lock control motor is sent to the locking lever
via the worm and wheel gears, causing the door to lock or unlock. The wheel gear is restored to neutral by the return spring when the door
lock/unlock operation is accomplished.
If the door is locked or unlocked, the switch senses it. A point plate and a switch base make up a position switch. The switch turns off when the
locking lever is on the lock side and on when the locking lever is on the unlock side.
The door lock assembly includes a key-operated switch. When the door key cylinder is actuated from the outside, it sends lock/unlock signals to
the integration relay.
1 manual door locking/ unlocking function
When the door control switch is operated on the lock/unlock side, the door lock/unlock signals are transmitted to the CPU, which turns on Tr1 or
Tr2 for about 0.2 seconds and also turns on the lock/unlock relay, which forms the ground circuit, and current flows from the battery to the
ground through the motor, turning off/on the DLPS.
The key-operated switch is turned on the lock/unlock side when the key is put in the door key cylinder and turned on the lock/unlock side to
rotate all of the door lock control motors in the lock/unlock direction as in the manual lock/unlock operation.
Only the door is mechanically unlocked when the key is turned to the unlock direction once. The integration relay's UL3 terminal is grounded via
the key-operated switch once, in this state, but Tr2 is not turned on. The UL3 terminal is grounded twice and the CPU in the integration relay
switches Tr2 on if the key is turned in the unlock direction twice in three seconds.
The CPU in the integration really switches Tr2 on for roughly 0.2 seconds after the door lock knob is operated to the lock position while the
driver's door is open and the key is left in the ignition key cylinder ( with the door loock position switch off)
As a result, the unlock relay is activated, and all doors are unlocked. If the door lock control switch is turned on to lock the doors in this state, all
of the doors will be locked once and then unlocked in the same manner as before.
Key confine prevention function ( when the door lock knob is on the unlock side)
5. Security function
When the doors are locked by any of the actions in, the integration relay's security function inhibits the door lock control switch's unlock
operation (for manual operation). The security feature will be disabled if any of the operations are performed.
(1) Operations that set door lock security function
Locking all the doors with the key on the driver’s or front passenger’s doors
Locking the doors with the the transmitter ( including 30 second auto lock)
Locking the driver’s door by the keyless locking method ( lock with the inside door lock knob and close the door)
Unlocking all doors with key on the driver’s on or front passengers’ door
Unlocking the doors with the transmitter
Unlocking the driver’s door with the knob
After the door lock security function is set, the key confine prevention function unlocks the doors.
THE DOOR CONTROL SYSTEM THAT IS CONTROLLED BY THE BODY ECU IN THE MPX CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS:
See location in the components for the parts that have the same function in the door lock control system controlled by the integration relay.
1. Body ECU
The body ECU identifies the vehicle status using data from each switch, sensor, or MPX, and uses the built-in relay to operate all of the door lock
control motors.
The driver door ECU monitors the condition of the driver's door's door lock control switch and key operated switch and sends a signal to the
body ECU through the MPX.
The front passenger door ECU detects the condition of the front passenger door's door lock control switch and key operated switch and sends a
signal to the body ECU through the MPX.
4. Meter ECU
The meter ECU estimates the vehicle speed from the skid control ECU's vehicle speed pulse signal and sends it to the body ECU.
When the center airbag sensor assembly is activated, the airbags are deployed and the information is transmitted to the body ECU, which
unlocks the door lock.
The MPX's body ECU controls the door lock control system, which has the following features. With the hand-held tester, you can configure some
functions.
The functions covered by the system vary depending on the model , grade and area. See function in outline for the functions that are same as
the door lock control system controlled by the integration relay.
This feature automatically opens all doors when the airbags deploy, allowing for easier escape and rescue in the event of an emergency.
When the driver's door is closed, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and open the driver's door within 10 seconds.3. Shift linked
automatic door unlock function
Shifting the shift lever to P from any other position unlocks all doors automatically when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
When the conditions below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.
- The ignition switch I turned from the LOCK and ACC position to the ON position.
When the conditions below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.
