Directions: Answer each of the following questions

1. Discuss briefly the major role of information technology in bringing


about advances in the educational system.

- In the era of technology. IT aids plenty of resources to enhance the teaching skills
and learning ability. With the help of IT now it is easy to provide audio visual education. The
learning resources are being widens and widen. Now with this vivid and vast technique as
part of the IT curriculum, learners are encouraged to regard computers as tools to be used
in all aspects of their studies. In particular, they need to make use of the new multimedia
technologies to communicate ideas, describe projects, and order information in their work.

2. Create a list of at least three online learning programs that you


use in today's educational system. Describe the benefits of each
application.
- Messenger: It is a very common application most people used to communicate and
for educational purpose where it requires less data to use it in communicating with
your teachers.
- Google Classroom: An application where most universities require it so that it will
be easier for them to send a files, lectures, quizzes and exams.
- Google Meet: An application used for virtual class, the benefits of this application
are more students can enter a Google meeting unlike Messenger that it is only
limited.
3. Determine the concept or keyword described in each item. Fill in the

and can exchange views / opinions with each other instantly through
internet.
E-Modules 2. It is a converted written file that is stored into
digital version into a computer using word processor accessible by the
user through internet.

Audio Conferencing 3. It involves the live (real time) exchange if


voice messages over a telephone network.

Video Conferencing 4. It allows the exchange not just of voice and


graphics but also of moving images.

Web-based Conferencing 5. It involves transmission of text and


graphic, audio and visual media via the internet; it requires the use of a
computer with a browser and communication.

Open and Distance Learning 6. It allows higher participation and


greater interaction by facilitating learning by doing, directed
instruction, self-learning, problem solving, information seeking and
analysis and critical thinking as well as the ability to communicate,
collaborate and learn.

E-Learning 7. It is a learning program that makes use of an


information network- such as the internet, an intranet (LAN) or extranet
(WAN) whether wholly or in part, for course delivery, interaction and/or
facilitation.

Blended Learning 8. It refers to learning models that combines face-to-


face classroom practice with e-learning solutions.

Constructivism 9. It is a paradigm of learning that assumes learning


as a process individuals “construct” meaning or new knowledge and
experience (Johassen 1991).

Learner-centered Learning 10. It is a learning environment that


pays attention to knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs that learners
bring with them to the learning process.

1. What would happen to the educational system if IT technology did not


exist in the first place during this COVID-19 pandemic?
- Well if IT technology did not exist in the first place during this pandemic, the educational
system would be difficult because we can only seek information, learn, and study through
books and physical discussion by the teacher.

2. Identify and describe at least 10 benefits of utilizing audiovisuals in


education.
