Dutton's naturalistic approach agrees with Urist Green's view that “art should be an
open and evolving concept”, as it emphasizes the portrayal of art as the experience of
human life, also it is an an evolving concept, as philosophic ideas progress. It depends
on the staunch, distinct cultural, including the patterns of behavior and dialogue of
creation and evaluation of art works. Since, Dutton relied on the behavior and culture,
his approach is somewhat like the idea that art is an open view, which is interrelated to
the society and human life. It provides a wide array of perspective and interpretation
hence it becomes boundless.

act of creation can be evident in terms of how detailed the art is in presenting the
experiences in art that transcends to the audiences, second is the work of art, which
shows the ability of the object to fill the audience’s pleasure based on the scene that is
presented, and this is due to the strong appeal of the aesthetic, such as the calendar
that Dutton used as an example of a beautiful landscape. Lastly, the experience of art
exhibit that representation has a grave impact to the audience.
