Analysis of meaning and relevance of History from the millennial

point of view.
Written by: Hachero, Romely C.

History is sequentially narrated and talks about the past of mankind. Learning history
helps us develop more on our good social and moral values which is very essential in
the society. We will not be here today and we cannot come up this good if we are
ignorance about what happened in the past. In the first place, history offers a
storehouse of information about how people and societies behave. Studying our
customs and tradition can motivate each and everyone of us to be more eager to
protect our rights and values and of course our country. I highly believe that we, the
current generation should be more focus on knowing our history, because without
history we cannot be molded of who we are today, without history we don’t have
amazing stories to tell to our future generation, without history we will never know how
amazing our world is, how our laws form, how war in the past decade started and
ended, and without history we will not give an importance of what we have right now,
especially our freedom which fought really hard by our heroes. So, what does history
teach us? There can be no doubt that there are important lessons in conservation to be
learnt from the past. The answer is that History is inescapable. It studies the past and
the legacies of the past in the present. Far from being a 'dead' subject, it connects
things through time and encourages its person to take a long view of such connections.
Understanding the linkages between past and present is absolutely basic for a good
understanding of the condition of being human that’s why history matters. It is not just
'useful', it is essential. In all cases, understanding History is integral to a good
understanding of the condition of being human. That allows people to build, and, as may
well be necessary, also to change, upon a secure foundation. The study of the past is
essential for rooting people in time. And why should that matter? The answer is that
people who feel themselves to be rootless live rootless lives that’s why we should give
importance in our past because someday we all become part of the history.
