Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing the Scuba Ringer! First, we’ll
introduce you to some overall information about our product.
Please read carefully before your first use.
Is the Scuba Ringer a weapon?
The Scuba Ringer is not federally regulated as a firearm in
the United States. It is regulated as a non-powder gun or air
gun. As such, it is subject to various state laws. Please check
your local and state laws for possession and acceptable use
of this product. A good resource can be found here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_gun_laws#United_States
In Canada, airguns must have a muzzle energy greater than
5.7 joules AND a muzzle velocity greater than 500 feet per
second to be regulated as firearms. This device has a muzzle
velocity less than 500 feet per second, so it is NOT
considered a firearm in Canada.
We recommend storing the Scuba Ringer unloaded and
locked. Keep it out of reach for children. You should only start
GoGun LLC info@gogun.co
preparing the Scuba Ringer for shooting right before your
diving session.
Attention: Like any other harpoon device, the Scuba Ringer is
deadly, especially when used outside of its intended purpose
(for example, over water and against mammals). Getting shot
by the Scuba Ringer may cause severe injuries or death.
Please keep this in mind while using our product.

What is the Scuba Ringer for?

The Scuba Ringer is an underwater sport device which can
accelerate two mini harpoons by means of compressed air.
The pistol is designed for shark repelling or spear fishing
(only in areas where harpoon hunting is allowed).
The same applies to all other non-weapon items that are
dangerous and can be used as an emergency weapon: In a
real self-defense situation the use of the Scuba Ringer can
be legal if there is no other way to defend against the attack.
Please familiarize yourself with the laws applying to the
country and state of use. If you injure or kill a person with the
Scuba Ringer investigation proceedings will take place.
Please do not use the Scuba Ringer frivolously or as a threat.
Consider using our product in situations of self-defenses only
as a warning shot.
But again we stress: The Scuba Ringer is NOT intended to
be used as a self-defense weapon. Please do not misuse our
product.

Am I allowed to carry the Scuba Ringer with me in

public?

GoGun LLC info@gogun.co

In the United States, the Scuba Ringer is federally regulated
as an air gun and not a firearm. However, there may be
state-level restrictions for possession and use of this item, for
example on school grounds. We recommend to store it safely
in between your diving sessions and to only carry it with you
on your way to the dive.

1. Handling
1.1 Opening and closing the Scuba Ringer
To open pull the rear sight back. Then the front part will pivot
open.

To close it put the front part back in. You can hear two clicks
while closing it.
Be sure to close the Scuba Ringer completely without a gap!
The right way to close it is shown on the following pictures:

1.2 Disassembling the cartridge

Unscrew the rod which leads to the arrow. Unscrew the

brass-colored part as shown on the picture.

If there is an already used (perforated) disc, please replace it.

Put a new disc inside the cap (be careful to only put one disc in
it).

Screw everything back together.

1.3 Filling the cartridge
The Scuba Ringer comes with an adapter for a compressed air
pump. Screw the adapter on tightly until it bottoms out and is
fully seated.

There should not be a gap because in that case the adapter

could break.
Pressurize the cartridge using a manual compressed air pump
or a compressor to 3600 psi (~250 bar). This is the value
recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not fill the cartridge over 4350 PSI (~300 bar)!

Switch on the compressor off or close the valve of the scuba

tank. Next, open the venting screw on your pump, otherwise
you can not take the adapter off. When the adapter is off, you
can screw everything back together.

2. Securing the Scuba Ringer
The safety is on the left side of the handle. F means ready to
shoot, S means safe (where the firing is disabled).

Be sure to always keep the safety on position S! You can switch

it to F when you aim at a safe target. Please also read the
safety instructions.

3. Loading and Shooting

The Scuba Ringer has a “Double Action Only (DAO)“
mechanism. It has an extra heavy trigger weight to prevent you
from firing the device accidentally. To pull the trigger you have
to pull the trigger completely down in order to shoot.

First put in the burst disk. Screw the filled cartridge on. Put on
the cap that holds the arrow and put in an arrow. The shown
arrow is good for training over water and for shark repelling.
There are some special arrows with barbs and returning cords
for hunting. Please be aware that harpoon hunting is only
allowed in permitted areas.

Do the steps shown in 1.1 Opening / closing the Scuba Ringer.

GoGun LLC info@gogun.co

The Scuba Ringer is now ready to shoot.

The Scuba Ringer is intended for underwater use. We

recommend to first train above the water. Aim a safe target and
be sure that no person or animal could accidentally be shot.
You can now pull the trigger two times to fire two arrows
successively. Attention: used underwater, the range of the
arrows is reduced but the shooting is significantly louder.

4. Maintenance and Care

The Scuba Ringer should be carefully dried, cleaned and oiled
after every diving session. In particular, if you have used it in
salty water you need to put some gun oil on it to avoid
corrosion. Fill some oil into the opening and be sure that the
hammer, spring and trigger unit are oiled so they will not rust.
After that, pull the unloaded trigger two or three times to
distribute the oil.

Attention: A pressurized cartridge will begin to lose pressure

GoGun LLC info@gogun.co

around 30 days. You may want to re-check it’s pressure at this
point before use.

One way to do this is to buy a microgram scale to compare the

weights of a known filled cartridge with that of an unknown
cartridge.

Another way is to attach the cartridge to a pump, and pump until

you see 3600 psi (~250 Bar)

5. Safety instructions / legal notice

● Never leave the Scuba Ringer ready to fire (safety position

F).

● Keep the Scuba Ringer away from unauthorized people or

children.

● Always switch the safety to S before loading the Scuba

Ringer.

GoGun LLC info@gogun.co

● Always aim a safe trigger and be sure that no person or
animal gets injured.

● Don’t put anything else but arrows inside the start tube.
This could lead to pipe bursting which could cause severe
injury or breaking the Scuba Ringer.

● Do not fill the cartridge over 4350 PSI (~300 bar)!

● Always follow the instruction manual and safety

information of your compressed air pump or compressor.

Before carrying the Scuba Ringer with you to your diving
