Lesson Plan in Mother Tongue 1

Grade One

At the end of the lesson the pupils are able to:


I - OBJECTIVES:
 Give meaning of words through pictures clues, context clues using power
point mystery box game. – ( MT1VCD-IIIa-i-2.1.1)
 Participate actively in virtual class discussions on familiar topics.- ( MT1OL-
III-i-6.2)
 Perform the following engagement activities base on the story listened to in
the power point presentation.
 Give the correct sequence of events presented in the power point
presentation . ( MT1RC-IIIb-c-2.1)
 Give the cause and effects of certain events shown in the power point
concentration game.

IV – PROCEDURE:

1.1 Let the pupils sing the song “ Ang Payag ni Superman”presented in the power
point presentation.
- What is the song about?
- Have you seen a hut?
- Utilize a KWL Chart.

1.2 Introduce the bigbook, author, and the illustrator.

1.3 Unlocking of Difficult Words using a mystery game in a power point


presentation.

a. Payag – through picture in the power point mystery game.


b. Lagotmon – through pictures in the power point mystery game.
c. Naglumpag – through picture in the power point mystery game.
d. Katahom – through picture in the power point mystery game.

2. Motive Question:
- What happen to the hut of Puloy?
- Guide pupils to make their guesses to be written in the prediction chart shown in
the power point presentation.

3. Constructing Meaning
3.1 First Reading
- Read the story shown in the power point presentation without interruption.
3.2 Second Reading
- Read the story in the power point presentation with the students and ask
questions to help pupils make prediction and monitor their comprehension.

4. Post Reading
- Guide the pupils to answer the motive question and find out if they are able to
make correct guesses. Refer to and use the prediction chart in the power point
presentation.

5. Engagement Activities:
A.- Group the class into 2 groups and let them play a game from a power point
game called “ Space- Race Game” Explain the mechanics of the game first.

B. -What did you learn from the hut of Puloy? Utilize the KWL chart from
power point presentation.
- Why is it that his hut is not destroy?
- What do you think are the causes of calamities to happen?Utilize the Venn
Diagram chart presented in the power point presentation.
- What bad effect do calamities to happen?
- How can we avoid calamities like flood to happen?
- Did Puloy’s plants help him during the calamity?
- Should we follow Puloy?
Enhancement Activity:
- Play again in a power point game called “ Concentration Game”. Explain the
mechanics of the game. Match the 2 pictures that shows the cause and effect of
a certain event.

Assignment:
- Sequence the correct event happen in a child. Write number 1,2,3,4,5 in a box
provided.
