Dear Parent,
Mathematics helps us understand the world and provides an effective way of building mental
discipline. Math encourages logical reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, abstract thinking
and enhances the problem-solving ability of the child.
Like every year, GIIS Ahmedabad is going to conduct a Proficiency test in Mathematics for the
students of Grades 1 to 12. The test which is MCQ based will assess the level of each student in the
subject. It will help us identify the gaps and areas of concerns wherein appropriate intervention shall
be planned by the subject teachers to assist them accordingly.
The Proficiency test will be conducted on 30th September, 2021 through Google Classroom,
during the school hours. The timings will be intimated later by the class teacher through WhatsApp.

The syllabus for Math Proficiency test mostly includes the topics already learnt by the children
during the year and assessed in Term 1, and hence do not require much additional preparation.
