POLICY GUIDELINES ON GIVING


PERFORMANCE – BASED
INCENTIVES ON REWARD SYSTEM

In line with the implementation of Policy Guidelines on


Awards and Recognition for the K-12 Basic Education Program,
Ipil Elementary Schol adopted and strictly follow
the said guidelines in giving awards and recognition to pupils who
have the standards, criteria, and guidelines set by the policy.

The SCHOOL can also set its own guidelines in recognizing


teachers, likewise, pupils performance in other activities or competitions
by pupils together with their teacher coaches.

The TEACHERS – in-charge of their respective class can also set


standards for the pupils to allow and accomplish inside their classroom. They
are permitted to design their own reward system to encourage their learners to be
properly disciplined and motivated to perform well in class and strive for
excellence.

The SCHOOL PRINCIPAL can also give incentive to the teachers


and other school personnel who have greatly fulfilled their duties.

INCENTIVES/REWARDS
Overview
Incentives are used to reward appropriate behavior and exemplary
performance of pupils in different learning areas.

Concepts

Reward/Recognition Program Established

 A system of rewards has elements that are consistent across school.


 Rewards are available at a variety of levels (tangible and intangible)
 Rewards are linked to expectations.
 Rewards are varied to maintain student interest.
 System includes opportunities for naturally occurring reinforcement.
 Ratios of reinforcement to corrections are high.
 Students are involved in identifying/developing incentives.
 The system includes for staff and faculty.

Advantages of a reward system


1. Appropriate behavior
Students conform to appropriate behaviors when rewarded either
intrinsically or extrinsically.

2. Increased motivation
Students will show interest and raise their participation in the everyday
classroom tasks, responsibilities and learning.

3. Joyful Students
Incentives for students motivate them to be more productive because they
create a feeling of pride and achievement. Being successful makes you
happy.

4. Boosted Self-Esteem

Every success story helps students become more self-confident. They are
proud and also encouraged to achieve another successful result. It is an
all-round fun task and helps the children to understand that they must
tidy up after making a mess.
GREAT STAMP

Notebooks or papers are stamped when children are working quietly on


task, producing excellent work, doing homework, consistently following class
rules, doing extra jobs or being helpful, ie. Positive behaviors. Then, they aim for
the next award which is 50, 75, 100, 125, etc. It stress that it isn’t a race to get the
most, but only a personal aim. The kids enjoy it and it promotes positive behaviors
and relationships , and they fell special when them from others.

PRIZE TOKEN
A great way to get the children in your class on task. Anytime they are
on task, producing lovely work, answering a question correctly etc. give them
a “prize token,” candies or small things appreciate.

CERIFICATES
A certificate is being given to pupils who excel academically at the end
of the quarter. This is assessed through the accumulative grades in each learning
areas.

FOOD TREAT
This is an incentive rewarded to pupils who brought honor to school by
winning in the different district or division competition. Pupils are being treated to
dine outside together with their respective coaches.
