DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TLE- Electronics X

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of sixty minutes lesson, the Grade X students are expected to do the following
with 75% proficiency level.

1. State the Ohms Law.

2. Give the formulas of Ohms Law.
3. Solve using the formula of Ohms Law.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Ohms Law

Reference: Grab, Bernard, Basic Electronics.
Instructional Materials: Projector and Laptop.
Integration: Physics and Mathematics

III. PROCEDURE

A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

Good Morning Class! Good Morning Sir!

How are you today? We’re fine Sir!
That’s good.
Before we start our lesson this afternoon, let’s
pray first. Who can lead a prayer?
( The teacher will call a student)
Thank you!

Before we proceed, may I check first your

attendance. Who is absent today? None Sir!

I’m glad that all of you are present this afternoon.

It only shows that you really interested to learn.

B. DRILL/ REVIEW

Class, before we proceed to our new lesson this

afternoon, let’s have a review first of our past
lesson.
As a sort of review, what is our past lesson all
about?
(The teacher will call a student) Sir our past lesson is all about Resistor Color
Coding.
Very Good!
I’m glad that all of you can still recall our past
lesson.
Class, are you ready to our new lesson this Yes Sir!
afternoon?
Then, show me that you are ready. Sit properly
and eyes on the board.

C. LESSON PROPER
I. MOTIVATION

Class, I have here an image that I will flash on the

screen, all you have to do is to observe the
picture.
(The teacher will show a picture)

Class what can you say about the picture? Sir, I observed a picture of a Traffic Light.

Very Good! What else? Sir, I saw different colours of light.

Nice answer!
Those colours in the Traffic Lights have their
respective duties.

In electronics, can you site what electronic Sir, I think the only electronic components that
components could be similar to traffic light? have colours is Resistor.

Very Good!
Class do you have an idea about our lesson this Sir, our new lesson this afternoon is all about
afternoon? Resistor Color Coding.
Very Good!

II. PRESENTATION

Class this morning we will going to talk about

Resistor Color Coding. We learned already the
different electronic components and devices and
now we will focus to one of the most important
electronic components, the Resistor.

III. UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES

But before that we have here some technical

terms that we are going to encounter for our new
lesson.

The term resistor was derived from the word (The students will read)
resist which means “oppose”.

Resistor have values called resistances. When the

resistors oppose the flow of the electric current,
it virtually lowers the voltage.

The values of resistors are usually determined by

the colour bands painted around their body. Each
colour represents a number.

IV. ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION

In your own idea what is resistor? Sir, resistor reduces of electric current.

Good! What else? Sir, resistor is a part of electronic component.

Very good! Now let’s read the definition of

resistor formally.

RESISTOR- is an electronic device that oppose

the flow of electric current.

(The teacher will show and discuss the color code

table)
Class I have made a mnemonics in order to easily
familiarize the sequence of the resistor colours.

Black Boy Rape One Young Girl But Violeta Gives

Willingly Gods Says No Comment.

(The teacher will give an example on how to solve

the value of a resistor)
(The teacher will give some practice/exercise to
his/her students)

D. GENERALIZATION
Now class, did you fully understand our topic this
afternoon? Yes Sir!

If you really understand our lesson, what is

resistor? (Students answer)

Very good!

What is the value of Gold and Silver in terms of Sir, in terms of multiplier, the value of Gold is 0.1
multiplier and tolerance? ohms and the silver is 0.01 ohms while in
tolerance is ±5% and the silver is ±10%.

Very good answer!

Who can recite the mnemonics about the Sir, “Black Boy Rape One Young Girl But Violeta
sequence of the resistor colours? Gives Willingly, God Says No Comment”

Very good! I’m glad that all of you understand

our lesson today.

E. APPLICATION

Class, we will have our activity, I will divide you

into two groups and choose 10 representatives. I
have here an actual resistor. All you have to do is
to identify the value of each colour and solve it
on the board.

Is that clear class? Yes Sir!

(The student will do their activity)

Class are you thru with your activity? Yes Sir!
I’m glad that all of you do an amazing
performance today. It only means that you are
listening attentively.

Any questions or clarifications regarding our None sir!

lesson?

IV. EVALUATION.

DIRECTION: Solve for each set of resistor colour.

1. Red, red, black

2. Gray, violet, red

3. Brown, white, black

4. Green, white, red

5. Orange, red, brown

V. ASSIGNMENT.

DIRECTION: Solve for the following.

4 band resistor:

Red

Black

Orange

Gold
