III. After gathering some data, make a one-page insight
paper by integrating the sociological concepts into your
experience. (Journal # 3)

INSIGHTS

Sociological concept pertains to norms and values, social characteristics, social

movements and social stratification. It is where the people belong to something they
interact with and it is mainly one of the reasons why we people tend to achieve
something that is quiet amazing for ourselves. The ten questions highlighted above are
questions that I think it need answers right now. Those questions are actually the
questions I wanted to hear from my family, my friends and all the people that surrounds
me, but sad to say, I haven’t received any of those. This is also the reason why I wanted
to ask that question because during our hard times, we can only talk to ourselves about
our agony, maybe the person that I am asking the question, need it or need some
advice and need someone to share with perhaps.. During the question and answer
portion, I always ask them first politely the favor of answering one out of ten questions I
have. Some did answer my questions and some declined for the reason that they are
too busy to entertain. However, it’s not a hindrance for me to ask these questions
because I bet, this deserves an answer. Luckily, I have talk to many people whom
answered my questions regarding for what they feel as of the moment. I believe that
during this time of pandemic, we are prone to many unwanted thoughts, and some are
also prone to depression because they have no one to talk to.

In my own experience, sociological concept has something to do with allowing us

to be part of the societal movement, stratification and status. This means that when we
are in the community, we are obliged to follow the social norms and values. When I was
a kid, I am always the stubborn family member of all times. I seldom follow rules and
regulations especially when I am in our house because of course, every household has
their so called rules and regulations. I often got scolded by my father and mother
because of my attitude. During my high school days, I have learned a lot in analyzing
what really the sociological aspect of a well-being. I have learned that being able to be
part of the society you must see to yourself if you are worthy enough to be part because
I believe that society are more on judgement, biases, and prejudiced. I have so many
struggles in facing the reality of the social environment. I came to a point where I want
to let myself stuck in a room because I am afraid of all the judgements I may encounter
along the way. Honestly, when I was younger even up until now, I always feel about
being the “pabigat” in the family. I do not feel the essence of being a family member. I
seldom stay in our house because I’m not happy at all. I don’t have the so called
“barkada” for me to share my problems and struggles because I think no one
understands me, I am always alone with God in my journey. But I guess, I’ve been
through a lot and I found the bright side. I know in the end, God is with me and no
matter how difficult the journey is, I can do it.
