Investment Philosophy:

Investment philosophy can be defined as overall set of strategies used by investors which guides them to
neutralise the risk associated with investment and to earn maximum returns out of investment. My
investment philosophy can be well defined by diversification options available for investment. There are
different asset classes available for investment. Asset classes can be classified into Stocks or equities,
fixed Income or bonds, money market, Real estate and gold or silver. My first choice investment is in
share market. I like to invest major part of portfolio in share market followed by real estate, gold and
bond. In share market investment one needs to be patient. Market can go with higher rally or lower rally.
Market does not keep only one movement. We have seen great recession in 2008 where share market
(BSE index) came down to around 8000 mark. In January 2007, market was at all time high of 2100.
Even in January 2011, market was in between 20000-21000. This indicates market index depends upon
market sentiments. So investor needs to be aware of market news like government decisions, industry
news, budget news, company news, international market movements etc. This can very well judged by
technical analysis. There is another analysis technique also i.e. fundamental analysis. So If I invest in
market for short period, it is based on market sentiments. If I want to invest in market for long period, I
consider fundamentals of the company.

My favourite stock: Edserv Softsystems Ltd.

EdServ is World's first 4th generation education company that uses technology to efficiently synchronize
manpower demand and supply in number and skills right from development to deployment. Indian
market, favourable demography and growing acceptance of technology-aided learning are helping
company to perform well in market. The clients of Edserv include students at all levels, colleges,
universities, government agencies (department of labor), schools and corporate. EdServ shall expand to
200 EdSchool under Vidhyadhana academy to adopt and run them in total management control. EdServ is
planning to integrate its Pre-School offering (Sparkling Minds) with Vidhyadhana Academy which will
help them in attracting more number of schools. EdServ has acquired 2tion.com, an online education
portal for college and school tuition services. EdServ has Acquired Smartlearn WebTV, an E-Learning
offering for IIT JEE and AIEEE aspirants. EdServ has acquired Schoolmate – a CRM and ERP software
solution provider for Schools. This acquisition enables the implementation of progressive learning model
in the Vidhyadhana run schools, where the company will improve the technology infrastructure, teacher
empowerment and support at classes and overall student performance enhancement through tracking and
analyzing every individual student. The company is currently looking at raising around Rs 130 crore
through a QIP or FCCB or GDR route. All these factors are helping growth in sales of the company.
Since 2008 there has been significant rise in sales of the company. The net worth of the company is very
strong and it’s a debt free company. It will be helpful for the company to raise the fund for future
expansion and acquisition. The company has reached 52 week high of 296 points. Currently it is trading
at 144 points. So it’s a good opportunity to invest in the company.
