System Configuration
Operation of this equipment is guaranteed when used under the following environments.
Read the operating conditions and avoid operation under any other environments.
Software environment
The operating system should be Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
SQL Server 2005 database server and .NET Framework 2.0 are required.
SQL Server 2005 is designed to run under SP2. Running it under any other service pack could result in
unforeseen operational problems.
! Caution
New service packs could be automatically applied by the Window’s automatic update function, so please
disable the automatic update function and perform all updates manually. When doing so, do not select updates
related to the SQL Server 2005 service pack.
Adobe Reader is designed to run under Version 8. Please use Version 8 because using any other version
could result in unforeseen operational problems.
Hardware environment
1) The system can run well with the software mentioned in “Software environment”.

7) Be sure to read thoroughly the operating instructions of the available computer, and always perform work
carefully so as not to perform incorrect operations.
Always check the life of the battery of the UPS mounted unit and the system battery of the computer, and
perform replacement periodically.

To select a job item, touch the [Status/Team] button, and then select the [Operation Item Selection] tab.

The job items that are registered by the job category are displayed.
1 Selecting a job item
The background of the selected item is shown in green.
2 Page switching This is used to show the registered items that are on two pages or more.
3 OK This button switches the job to the selected job item.
While a job item that is recorded automatically, such as print, plate change, or cleaning (including a rest that is
set automatically), is being executed, manual job-item selection is disabled.

Selecting a team
When the shift is changed, select and switch the team for the next shift. Switching the teams can create
the operation log for each team.
To select a job item, touch the [Status/Team] button, and then select the [Team] tab.

When the job of the team is to be finished, but the team is not shifted

To select a team or operator, teams and operators should be registered with the Manager Settings menu.
If the team is not changed and continues working, the operation log is sectioned by 24-hour periods, and it is
displayed.

Operation Log The printing status of a current job or past operation logs can be checked.
Functions for maintaining the best conditions of the press machine, such as
Machine Management error history, and maintenance items, etc., are included.
A screen to change the team or select the contents of the current job is
displayed.

Notices given to operators, such as warnings and information, are displayed as messages and an icon is
displayed on the right side.
Display Description
This appears if short messages or takeover information from the previous team
have not been read.
Once the messages are read, the icon disappears.
This appears when K-Station is equipped and a job operation is performed from a
K-Station.
This icon disappears when the screen switches from the Job List to another screen.
This appears when K-Station is equipped and the connection with the K-Station
cannot be made.

Operation guidance
On the Print Operation screen, operation procedures are displayed at the upper part of the screen as
guidance. Print operation includes 4 steps, and operation steps change with the operation screen for each
step. You can move to any step by touching your desired step button of the guidance. If a job is not being
executed, [Preset] and [Job finish] cannot be selected.

You can select one of [Network], [STORAGE], [Job history], or [PQC] as a destination to load the job. When
you select anything other than [PQC], select a job from the list , and touch the [Load] button.
Setting the search conditions will display a list of jobs that satisfy the set conditions.

Search Conditions
When a search condition button is turned on, the search condition color changes to white, and when
selected from the list, only those jobs that match the condition are displayed in the list. Multiple search
conditions can be set to narrow down searches by only displaying a list of the jobs that match all of the
conditions.

This specifies the time period for the job data to be displayed in the list.
For the time period used to display the jobs in the list, the job data file
update time is used for [Network] and [STORAGE], and the job start time

is used for the [Job History].
The initial status has the time period specified, so set the time period as
required.
The job search can be narrowed down by selecting the search items for
the jobs that are within the above-mentioned time period. Select the
Search Condition
2 items to be used to narrow down the search.
Buttons
There are some search items that cannot be selected depending on
whether the job read destination or information exists.
3 Search Conditions Select the search conditions from the list to narrow down the job list.
This displays the number of candidates for each search condition. If the

Creating/Editing a job

Enter the Details-1 items. Be sure to enter the [Project name] and [Job name].
Double quotation marks ["] and commas [,] cannot be used in project names and job names.
If these items are not entered, you cannot move to the next page even if you touch the [Next] button.
Display Name Description
Detailed information about a job, such as Estimated copies,
Start/Finish time, and Customer, is displayed. The list of the names

Enter the Details-2 items. Be sure to enter the [Paper Type], [Paper grain], [Paper size], and [Print type].
If these items are not entered, the job cannot be saved even if the [Save] button is touched.
If a job library has been saved, selecting it enables you to set all items

2 Paper information The paper name, paper type, paper weight, and paper grain are set.

Preset data are output to a file. The location to save the data can be

Select the items of preset data to be transmitted. For each selected item, either
the new preset data or repeat data (preset data saved for the previous print of
the reprint job) is selected.
1 Preset items
When repeat data has been selected using Ink, the Edit button is enabled.
A new job that has not been reregistered from the history has no repeat data
and cannot be selected.
Data will be sent to PQC according to the selected preset items. When
transmission is successfully completed, the [Printing] screen for the print
2 Preset Send operation is displayed.
After transmission, select the items to be preset on the AMR screen of PQC
and execute AMR.

The work status for the operation log period is shown graphically. The

3 Scale/Move The scale and displayed time of the work graph are changed.
If the next job is reserved and this button is set to ON, the next job will

If no job is reserved, this button is not displayed.
When this button is turned on and the current job finishes, the job data is
5 Save History not saved to the job history. The job results of the operation results are
retained.
Touch this button to momentarily stop the job being executed. The

be resumed by restarting it.

the daily change (set with the Manager Settings).

• The category cannot be edited.The job category “Rest” has no job item.
• The symbol indicates the item that is to be saved automatically according to the operating status of the
press but it could be saved, depending on the press specifications.
• The symbol indicates the rest time that is set with the Manager Settings and saved automatically.
• If printing or a job that should be automatically saved is recognized even during rest, it is recorded prior to
rest.
• The symbol indicates the items that are automatically changed after completion of an auto save
operation, and the items to be changed differ depending on the following conditions:

The detail graph shows the operating status of each job item belonging to the job category.

You can search for an error history that matches the search word.

In addition, the list error items can be selected and set as search words.
The starting date from which to list items with an error generated is
displayed. Normally, errors generated from the displayed date to the current
time are listed. In Search mode, the period and a specified search word are

the right. The graph is shown in green for progress of 80% or less,
yellow for between 80% and 100%, and red for 100% or more. The

Registered teams and the group to which they belong are displayed. To

Days listed in the error history are set. If set to 30, the error history for the

Maintenance schedule
The maintenance can be scheduled for each Interval. Once the maintenance day is set, the date is
color-coded on the schedule calendar for maintenance on the screen.

Use this item for scheduling with the repeat interval, such as the specified
day of the week or date, for example every Monday. Weekly, Bi-weekly, or
Monthly (the day of the week or date) can be set as the repeat interval.

Set Repeat mode by touching one of the four buttons.
Select the date to set the Repeat interval on the calendar. The date after
the selected date is set with the specified interval.
Select a date on the calendar to set the maintenance schedule. The

schedule is cancelled.

Authorization Registration

! Caution
60 days of use are given when authorization is not performed. When the 60-day period has expired, KMS-CP
will not start up.
The following method can be used to perform authorization when KMS-CP authorization registration has
not been performed.
1. The ID registration dialog box is displayed by pressing the button on the [System Setting] screen.
2. Insert USBKEY included with the Setup CD into the USB port and click the button to execute
registration.
3. When registration is completed, a message will be displayed. Click on the [OK] button to close the ID
registration dialog box and complete the authorization registration.

The data file used at the authorization is stored on the USBKEY.
Be careful not to format the USBKEY before the authorization.
In addition, because the USBKEY checks the connection periodically after every authorization, be careful not
to remove it.
After the authorization registration, if the USBKEY is pulled off or if the USBKEY cannot be recognized
because of a malfunction, KMS-CP displays the message of authorization error.
* “Authorization Error” is displayed periodically until the authorization is performed again.
KMS-CP can be used for 30 days even after the “Authorization Error” display occurred. When the 30-day
period has expired, KMS-CP will not start up.
* When a USBKEY malfunction occurs, as reissue of the USBKEY is required, contact Komori service.
When changing the computer of KMS-CP, KMS-CP can be used continuously by performing the authorization
registration with the same USBKEY.

Database Maintenance

Message
A message recommending data optimization is displayed once a month.
Pressing [Yes] will delete data for which the storage period has expired, in order to optimize the data.
Pressing [No] will not perform optimization, but the message encouraging data optimization will continue to
be displayed periodically.
The optimization may take time depending on the amount of registered data, so make allowance for that
when optimizing.
Data optimization can also be performed in the system setting of the administrator setting.
