What I Can Do!

The Philippines is a country made up of multiple islands with various beliefs and historical origins, hence, it is rich
in diverse cultures and customs, both historically and current days. However, I am asked how to show adaptability to the
diverse history of the Philippines. And I believe that by studying many media that address the history, I can demonstrate
adaptability to the Philippines' complex past. As a result, I will have a wide and thorough understanding of Philippine
culture, as well as a good grasp of research conducted via multiple media.

I believe that developing this kind of action-- researching-- and mindset will give me a helping hand unto
acknowledging and accepting changes and understanding historical diversity. We are recognized in the Philippines for
adapting; we adapt our existing habits and cultures from past colonizers. In addition, many types of literature are passed
down in the Philippines, including legends, epics, folklore, and many more. Locals have their own mythology, which can
vary from that of other provinces. This demonstrates that literature in this country is diverse due to various factors.

In conclusion, we can really feel the adaptation of complex history as we research the various literature of our
colonizers and create one out of it. However, by using the digital media outlets that have been evolving alongside our
nation, we may be able to adapt and comprehend the diversity of our history.

LESSON TWO
What’s In

1. The pre-colonial period, the Spanish colonial era, the American colonial era, and the contemporary period are all

2. The basic elements of Philippine literary pieces during the Japanese regime, which lasted from 1941 to 1945, are
as follows: The main Filipino poetry themes at the time included nationalism, country, love, faith, religion, arts,
and life in barrios. Also, three distinct poems came to be which includes: Haiku, Tanaga, and Karaniwang Anyo.
Philippine Literature During the American-Japanese Period, American Period (1898-1941); Philippine literature
has been growing in popularity over the years. From ancient times to the present, there have been many
discoveries, inventions, and a wide variety of imagination. Many of these events occurred as a result of our
country's struggles of slavery, freedom, poverty, and independence. With some degree of press freedom from
Spanish Slavery, Tagalog writers started to express themselves more openly. Under the Spanish Regime, the
basic elements of Philippine literary works were: Filipino alphabets known as "Alibata" were replaced with the
Roman Alphabet. European legends have been incorporated into Filipino songs and corridos. Folk songs grew in
popularity.
3. Another distinction of 21st century literature is that modernists, as opposed to traditional authors, prefer free
verse with no fixed rhyme scheme or format. If you mean conventional literature, ancient literature was mostly
oral, didactic, and mythical, with a lot of romanticism and idealism.

Additional Activity.

Filipinos are a friendly and hospitable people. They always smile, regardless of how they are
feeling. If you're meeting someone for the first time, it's a good idea to smile at them before starting
a conversation; otherwise, you'll be misunderstood.
The national language is Filipino, which is mainly based on Tagalog. The majority of Filipinos still
speak English because it is commonly used as a means of instruction in schools, so it's not shocking
that they can communicate in English. Filipinos find it convenient to start up a conversation with
someone, even if they tend to be shy.
Rage and other powerful feelings should not be shown in public. When a person of “superior”
status deals with a “subordinate,” this is what usually happens. However, such emotional outbursts
are resented. Nonverbal cues of frustration include decreased contact with the other, absence from
work-related social activities, and even a refusal to initiate informal communications.
