The graphs and tables mentioned above describe the recent energy situations in the Philippines and as well as
in the World. From the Philippine setting, our country’s primary source of power generation has coal as the largest
percentage, specifically at 49% of the total energy mix. Of the current energy mix in the Philippines, imported energy
supply from other countries plays a significant part in the total energy mix, with a percentage of 49% and the rest being
self-supplied or indigenous. With the current source of energy supply, the distribution of consummation was heavily
used for petroleum products at 48.3% of the total energy source. However, in a global setting, the world’s primary
source of power generation has oil as the largest percentage at 33.06% of the total energy mix. Of the current energy
mix in our world, the distribution of consummation was heavily used for oil products at 30.93% of the total energy
source. With the current situation, I think that we have to diversify our energy sources and lessen more on the
dependence on high-percentage energy sources such as oil and coal power supplies. Coal and oil are not sustainable
which is why it is recommended to encourage the use of biofuels, solar energy, wind energy, and even hydropower.
