I. Gawain:
Gawain sa Pagkatuto Bilang 1:
Direction / Panuto: Encircle the letter of the best answer.
2. Which of the following is true about the effect of air temperature on the speed of sound?
A. The lower the temperature the faster the speed.
B. The higher the temperature the faster the speed.
C. The higher the temperature the slower the speed.
D. The temperature does not affect the speed of sound.
4. Which wave property is observed when a boy shouts and hears his own voice inside the
church?
A. echolocation B. reflection C. refraction D. both reflection and refraction
to another.
Have you ever tried this? Paano nagkakaroon ng tinatawag natin na ECHO?
3
sound waves.
B. Refraction
The refraction of sound waves involves a change in the direction of waves as they pass
from one medium to another. Sound waves travel slower in cooler air than in warmer air.
temperatura. Tingnan ang larawan sa ibaba.
Tuwing umaga, higit na mas mainit ang
temperature ng lupa dahil sa na-absorb
nitong init mula sa araw, kaysa na
himpapawid o mas mataas na bahagi
ng ating mundo. Kaya ang sound ay
nagta-travel paitaas kung saan may
mas malamig na temperature.
III. Abstraksyon
Gawain sa Pagkatuto Bilang 2:
Answer the following questions briefly and concise. (Sagutin ang mga sumusunod
na tanong ng mailki ngunit tumpak) 5 points each.
4
2. Describe the transmission of sound through solid, liquid and gas.
IV. Paglalapat:
Gawain sa Pagkatuto Bilang 3:
Direction / Panuto: Fill in the blanks to complete the statements. Write your answers on a separate
sheet of paper.
1. The speed of sound in dry air at 00C is around __________.
2. The speed of sound in air increases by __________ with every increase of 1C0.
3. Sound exhibits the following properties: __________ and __________.
4. The turning back of the wave as it hits the barrier is called __________.
5. The reflected sound is known as __________.
6. __________ refers to the multiple reflections or echoes in a certain place.
7. An application of sound reflection used by scientists to map seafloor and to determine the depth
of the ocean or sea is __________.
8. The __________ of sound involves a change in the direction of waves as they pass from one
medium to another.
9. Sound waves travel __________ in cooler air than in warmer air.
10. Sound travels fastest in __________.
V. Pagninilay:
Write at least 5 sentences about the things that you learned in the lesson.
