The San Beda Law Journal is proud to release its latest volume.

This is the 57th Volume of the

Journal which is dearly dedicated to our beloved Vice Dean Risel G. Castillo-Taleon, fondly called
by the San Beda Law community as the "Mother of Lions."
At the forefront of the 57th Volume, and rightfully so, is the thesis of Vice Dean Risel G. Castillo-
Taleon. Her thesis discusses the nature of caricature, parody, and pastiche as well as the rights and
protection given to its makers in the Philippines and different jurisdictions. She posed
recommendations which include, among others, the enactment of legislation which will strengthen
the protection for Intellectual Property Rights of individuals. This work was made during her stay in
the San Beda University Graduate School of Law.
The succeeding articles were written by Bedan law practioners and students.
The Bedan law practioners who contributed to the 57th Volume are Atty. Antonio Caesar R. Manila,
Atty. Reynold L. Orsua, and Atty. Felson M. Dalaguete, CPA.
On the other hand, the Bedan law students who contributed to the 57th Volume are Roger B.
Montero, Jr., David Jerome G. Dominguez, and Jose Lorenzo C. Dave.
To all the contributors, readers, and individuals continuously supporting the Journal, our heartfelt
gratitude and appreciation go.
Again, we present the 57th Volume of the San Beda Law Journal.
