July 2021
The Alerts are provided to all Drilling and Workover Operations Foremen and Liaisonmen so that we all learn from the
experiences of others. The knowledge of this incident could prevent similar ones from happening in the future.
Saudi Aramco policy requires the information in this Alert to be communicated to all crew members and documented on
morning reports.

In July 2021, Saudi Aramco Industrial Security Organization has issued FIVE
traffic violations for “Driving Vehicle in Unsafe Condition” under GI 6.030. All
violations are related to driving vehicle with tires in bad/damaged condition which
is a danger to all road users.

All drilling contractors and service companies are instructed to remind all
transport/hauling contractors to inspect the condition of the tires before the
vehicles are dispatched to Saudi Aramco locations.
Remember these basic tire maintenance:

 Avoiding road hazards; and

inspecting tires for cuts, cracks,
slashes, and other damages are the
most important things you can do to
avoid tire failure.
 Maintain proper tire pressure;
observing tire and vehicle load limits
(not carrying more weight in your
vehicle than your tires and vehicle
can safely handle).

These actions can also help improve vehicle handling and fuel economy, protect
your vehicle from mechanical breakdown and collision, and increase the life of
your tires.
