Mathematics and Mathematics Education.

1. Activity Description

Type of activity: Collaborative

Evaluation moment: Intermediate Unit 1
Highest score of the activity: 115 points
The activity starts on: Wednesday, The activity ends on: Wednesday,
September 9, 2020 October 7, 2020
With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Connect research practice and theory in the development and study of Mathematics
Education.

The activity consists of:

Collaboratively create a comparison chart representing the connection between

didactics of Mathematics and Mathematics Education.
-Individual posting of the comparative chart.
-Topic centered and meaningful feedback.
-Collaborative creation of a comparative chart.

For the development of the activity consider that:

In the Learning Environment, you must:

-Consult the bibliography suggested for the Unit 1.
-Read the research papers: Research, Practice and Theory in Didactics of
Mathematics: towards Dialogue between Different Fields. Maria G. Bartolini Bussi &
Luciana Bazzini and Epistemology, didactics of mathematics and teaching practices
BRUNO D’AMORE.

1
-In the collaborative forum each student must post an individual comparative chart
stating the differences between Didactics of Mathematics and Mathematic Education,
and their relation with research.
-Each student has to give topic centered feedback to at least two of her/his partners.
-From all the individual charts there has to be as result one single comparative chart
by group.

In the Evaluation Environment:

-Each group leader has to upload one single document that contains the final
comparative chart built collaboratively.

Evidences of individual work:

The individual evidence to be submitted is:

Each student has to, individually post an individual comparative chart with general
ideas on the differences between Mathematic Education and Didactics of Mathematic.
Additionally, each one has to give topic centered and relevant feedback to at least
two peer.

Evidences of collaborative work:

The collaborative evidence to be submitted is:
One single document that contains the final comparative chart built collaboratively.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Collaborative evidences, consider the following:

 All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.

 In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product in
the environment indicated by the teacher.

 Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

2
 Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during the
time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the submitted
product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
