Service Planner at 1-800-684-8123, prior to performing any work on an electrical panel.

Special Inspection/Investigation Fee
SPECIAL INSPECTION/INVESTIGATION FEE: A special inspection fee may be assessed by the building
official or his technical officers, inspectors, and other employees as determined necessary to achieve
compliance of the permitted work and/or related activity. Such enforcement shall result from those actions
and/or a violation(s) of Beverly Hills Municipal code associated with the permitted work and/or related activity
caused by property owner, contractor, its employees, and/or persons working under the control and direction of
contractor. A two hour minimum special inspection/investigation fee shall apply, with additional time charged at
the current hourly rate. Such related building and/or technical permits shall be suspended until the assessed
special investigation fee has been paid and the subject actions and/or violations(s) of Beverly Hills Municipal
code have been resolved to the satisfaction of the building official.
REIMBURSEMENT OF PERMIT FEES
HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 17021 IS AMENDED TO PROVIDE THAT A PERMITTEE IS
ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT OF PERMIT FEES IF THE LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FAILS TO
CONDUCT AN INSPECTION OF THE PERMITTED WORK WITHIN 60 DAYS OF RECEIVING NOTICE THAT
THE WORK IS COMPLETED.
ELECTRICAL CALIFORNIA TITLE-24 ENERGY CODE:
The 2005 California Energy Code, effective October 1, 2005, contains new requirements for residential lighting.
Fifty percent of kitchen light power must be fluorescent (high efficacy). Bathroom, garage, laundry room and
utility room lighting must be fluorescent or controlled by occupant sensors. All other room lighting must be
fluorescent or controlled by occupant sensors or dimmer switches. Outdoor lighting mounted on buildings must
be fluorescent or controlled by motion sensors. Lights in ceilings required to be insulated must be labeled AT
(air-tight) in addition to being labeled IC.

COVID-19 SAFETY FOR CONSTRUCTION SITE GUIDELINES


Per the Emergency Orders issued by the State of California and the County of Los Angeles in
response to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction is currently permitted to continue in the City of
Beverly Hills. This may change as circumstances continue to rapidly evolve day-to-day. All
construction site in the City of Beverly Hills are required to comply with all applicable and the most
current emergency orders established for the COVID19 health orders. Construction sites that create
unsafe conditions may be denied inspections and asked to shut down until compliance is achieved.
