SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PAPER (SRP) PROPOSAL

Working in collaborative teams, discuss your responses to the following questions:

1. What interested us about the passage(s) as we read them?

2. What associated ideas/topics came to mind as we read the passage(s)?
3. What, if any, preliminary research did we do to help us understand the ideas/topics
better?
4. Which one of the ideas/topics do we think we could reasonably explore in a research
paper?
5. What problem will our research paper address?
6. What do we already know about this topic?
7. What are we interested in finding out, OR sharing, with readers in the faculties of
Science and Technology and Medical Sciences, about this topic?
8. How will we go about gathering additional information/data on this topic?

TASK: In your team, write a proposal in which you:1) type the selected topic at the top
of the page, 2) summarize the team members’ responses to questions 1-3 in one
paragraph, and 3) provide the team’s response to questions 4-8 in two short
paragraphs, 4) list any sources you consulted, at the end of the assignment.

The proposal must be no more than 350 words.

Submit your SRP proposal (and team members’ individual Self-Evaluation

Forms) at the beginning of the library session (in seminar 4) for your Instructor’s
feedback; collect it at the end of the session.
