Deparo Elementary School Mid-Year INSET Day 1

The Deparo Elementary School held Mid-Year In-Service Training for

Teachers with the theme “Capacity Building for Teachers to Face Challenges in
Education in the New Normal” day 1 on December 14, 2020 was hosted by the
Kinder and Grade 1 Teachers via Google Meet. The Master of Ceremony for
morning session was facilitated by Mrs. Edna G. Casigan.

The program started at 8:00 AM with the prayer headed by Mrs. Edna G.
Casigan followed by the National Song by Ms. Ilyne A. Labayne, Caloocan Hymn
by Ms. Marie Leah Rachela O. Ranis, and the Deparo Hymn conducted by Mrs.
Joyce V. Dikit. Mrs. Jomarie M. Aligo lead the energizer and Food for Thought by
Mrs. Rhealyn R. Calip. Mrs. Arlene C. Magro take in charge of the checking of
attendance. The Deparo Elementary School Principal Dr. Edna B. Balajadia gave
her welcome and inspirational message.

The first speaker was Mr. Karl Dominic Florentin, he talked about Online
Classroom Management. He emphasized the wide variety of skills and techniques
that the teachers use to keep students organized, orderly, focused, attentice, on
task, and academically productive during online classes. He also talked about the
importance of google classroom netiquette and online class hand signals. He also
shared the 23 Tips for Effective Online Teaching.

The second speaker was Mr. Manuel Zuniega, he discussed about the
Essential Strategies for New Online Distance Teachers. It stressed that teachers
must be wise in choosing online teaching platform. The site of online teaching
needs to be accessible, it is easy for students and parents to use at home; equitable,

it has printable activities for students without reliable internet or device access;
communicative, so that students can talk directly to you as well as their peers;
monitorable, so that you can stay informed of student activity and progress and
automated reporting is ideal; and sustainable your online teaching platform needs
to be a realistic long-term solution that doesn’t burn you out with undue amounts
of time and effort.
