3-day training under NICRA & one


day training under TSP held

PASIGHAT, Feb 25: The Indian Council of Agriculture Research Complex, Basar, Arunachal Pradesh, conducted a three-
day training on ‘Prospective Technologies for Climate Resilient Agriculture’ under National Innovation on Climate
Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project and one day training-cum-input distribution under Tribal Sub plan (TSP) project at
Basar circle, Lepaprada from 23rd-25th February.

Altogether, 49 farmers participated in the programme which was inaugurated by Dr H Gogoi, DVO and Y Jini, DHO,
Leparada as chief guest and guest of honour in presence of Dr H Kalita, Jt Director, ICAR, Basar.

The DHO, in his speech, laid emphasis on crop diversi cation for climate resilient agriculture.

Similarly, the DVO spoke on crop-livestock integrated farming systems.

On day one, Dr Kalita delivered a lecture on the importance of early identi cation and management of citrus stem borer
by organic methods. The other resource persons namely Kaushik Bhagawati, Dr Raghuveer Singh, Y Jini, Dr Rajesh and
Dr Ampee Tasung also delivered lectures on various topics covering all aspects of prospective technologies for climate
resilient agriculture on different scheduled days.

After the technical session the participants were given a farm visit of Dairy, Piggery, Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant
Breeding, Soil Science, Agroforestry and Integrated Farming System unit in Gori Farm, ICAR, Basar centre.

The valedictory function was attended by Saurav Dubey, 2nd in Command, ITBP, as chief guest, who spoke on the ways 

agriculture is important for the economy and maintaining the defence sector of the country.

On the occasion, the farmers were distributed certi cates and demonstrations made on summer vegetables involving
various inputs like seeds of summer vegetables sponsored under TSP project component.

Dr Doni Jini, Scientist (VEE) was the coordinator of the programme.
