Mechanical Engineer x1
Minimum requirements:
Ÿ Grade 12
Ÿ Degree/ B-Tech / National Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical
Engineering
Ÿ Valid code B driving licence
Ÿ 6-8 years' experience post GCC in mining and plant
environment;
Ÿ Good disciplinary record;
Ÿ Must be able to execute instructions accurately;
Ÿ Management Development programmed or Senior
Management Development programmed is an added
advantage;

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Ÿ Must have a GCC certificate from DMRE
Ÿ Responsible for engineering related activities, including
machinery and electrical reticulations and Trackless mobile
machinery
Ÿ Develop, implement and monitor adherence to engineering
standards and legislative requirements
Ÿ The safe and optimal maintenance and operation of
machinery and equipment to required standards
Ÿ Ensure that the mining contractor and sub-contractors
maintain the requirements as per legal requirements, mine
standards, COP, mine procedures.
Ÿ Ensure adherence and compliance to safety protocols and
procedures, health and safety legislation and all other
relevant requirements.
Ÿ Maintenance, service, compliance and in charge of all diesel
machinery and plant
Ÿ Safety and equipment performance and enforce COP,
procedures, standards and instructions.
Ÿ Report any contraventions of the provisions of the MPRDA
and MHS regulations
Ÿ In charge of the legal requirements and management of
maintenance contracts.
Ÿ Execution and management of technical projects
Ÿ Drafting, reviewing and updating of Codes of Practice and
Standard Working Procedures
Ÿ Exposure to Budget and Cost Management
Ÿ Optimal asset management to ensure appropriate return on
investment, including cost controlling.
Ÿ Ensure logistics process remains fully operational
Ÿ Ensure adequate environment compliance in the depart-
ment
