Essay Online Contest Guidelines

I. Rationale
The Committee on Gender and Development of Holy Child Multi Purpose Cooperative (Holy Child
MPC) initiates this online essay writing contest dubbed as #StoryaJuana: An Online Contest for its
members with goals to encourage coop members to share an uplifting social media post featuring
“Juana” a woman, who was able to hurdle the challenges of the pandemic and empower others to
remain hopeful.

II. Objectives
This online advocacy specific objectives are:
1. Promote positivity among cooperative members
2. Increase online presence of the cooperative
3. Discover talents among coop members children
4. Promote appreciation to women in this critical time
5. Engage members through online activity

III. Mechanics of the Contest


III.1 To join, compose a 50 - 60 words caption with a picture status on Facebook about " the role of
your Mother, Sister, Auntie, Grandmother" during the pandemic to hurdle the challenges and
empower others to remain hopeful .
III.2 Open to all children of cooperative members . 1 entry per family only.
III.3 All participants must dully fill out the Registration and Consent form via Online (link
https://forms.gle/VDdpdWZjrEdWXM8X9 ) or Print (Annex 1) on or before April 17, 2021.
III.4 Entry must be posted on Facebook in public setting using the official hashtag:
#StoryaJuana #HolyChildMPC #KasaliganKaubansaKauswagan #PademicInspiringStory
III.5 Also tag TEN ( 10) of your friends in the post and like the official Facebook page of Holy Child
Multi Purpose Cooperative www.facebook.com/holychild.mpc.3
III.6 Entries can be written in English, Tagalog or Bisaya.
III.7 Contest Duration
Contest runs from April 1 , 2021 to April 30, 2021
Last submission of entry: April 25, 2021 (11:59 PM)
Judging and Evaluation: April 26 - 30, 2021
Awarding ceremony will be on May 6, 2021 at Holy Child MPC

IV. Additional Mechanics


IV.1Participants legitimate or illegitimate child are qualified as long as acknowledged by parent/s,
living in or outside the locality.
IV.2Holy Child MPC staff and their relatives up to the third degree of consanguinity or affinity are not
eligible to join.
IV.3Participants must fill up the registration form online (link:
https://forms.gle/VDdpdWZjrEdWXM8X9) or printed (See Annex 1).
IV.4Articles should not be counted in the final total of words used.
IV.5Entries that failed to meet the required minimum is automatically disqualified.
IV.6 Entries must either be composed purely in English, Tagalog or Bisaya. The quality of language
will not be a decisive factor, as long as the text retains its clarity and coherence.
4.6.1 The caption must be composed of 70 percent of 1 chosen language/dialect and 20 percent
other language/dialect
IV.7Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of the essay.
IV.8Use of bots or auto likes application is prohibited for the contest.
IV.9All the entries shall be considered property of the Holy Child MPC and may be used by the
organization for publication and any other legal purpose.

V. Rubrics for Scoring


V.1 The scoring of the contest will be based on the number of Like and Love reaction which is 40
percent while 60 percent will be based on content , composition, relevance and overall message.
5.2 Facebook reaction which composes 40 percent shall meet the following criteria
5.2.1 The contest will only count the Like or Heart reaction on the post other than that is not
counted.
5.2.2 The Facebook reactions that will be counted are only those made before April 25, 2021 beyond that will
be forfeited.
5.2.3 Only those who like the page of Holy Child Multi-purpose will be counted.
5.3 Following criteria may be used in assessing the entry :

Organization (Clarity of Thoughts, Creativity, Unity and Consistency)
 Clarity of Thoughts Use of simple and appropriate words to convey ideas 20
or issues
 Creativity The use of appropriate devices and expressions in the
exposition of the subject.
 Unity and Consistency Ability to highlight the focal point
Mechanics (Punctuation, Spelling, Capitalization, Grammar) 10

V.2 Official score sheets template is provided in the Annex 2. Provided with Entry number only.
V.3 Identity of the entries shall be placed in different set of file.
V.4 The result of the contest shall be posted on the official page of Holy Child Multi-purpose and the
Bulletin Board.
V.5 The winners will be notified through email, phone call, and official letter.
V.6 The judges’ decision is final.

VI. Prizes
VI.1The winners of the contest will receive the following:
1st Prize: 500 pesos + goodies ( 2 kilos of rice, 3 cans of Corn beef, 4 packs of noodles) + certificate
2nd Prize: 400 pesos + goodies ( 2 kilos of rice, 3 cans of Corn beef, 4 packs of noodles) + certificate
3rd Prize: 300 pesos + goodies ( 2 kilos of rice, 3 cans of Corn beef, 4 packs of noodles) + certificate
Consolation prize :5 winners of 100 pesos worth of e-load
VI.2Awarding of the prize shall be claimed personally or with representative with Authorization letter.
VI.3Awarding ceremony will be on May 6, 2021 at Holy Child MPC
VI.4Prizes will be claimed 90 days after the official announcement otherwise forfeited.

trade, advertising, promotional, and/or any other purposes, as Holy Child MPC and/or its designees may
determine or see fit, without having to seek permission from, and without consideration or notification to any
participant or any third party. I also agree that the entry may, in Holy Child MPC’s sole discretion, be posted
online at the contest website and/or any other website as determined by Holy Child MPC, for visitors to the
website(s) to view.

Further, I represent and warrant that I own all right, title and interest and have obtained all appropriate
permissions and releases to grant Fujitsu ownership of all entries and the content thereof, which shall include
but not be limited, all right, title and interest to any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other
proprietary rights, including but not limited to, privacy and publicity rights, in and to, all entries and to enable
Holy Child MPC to use all entries as described in the official rules herein. I further represent and warrant that I
