SAP PM – Time Zone Functionality

Follow Business Scenerios:

While working with globalization concept in SAP EAM (Plant Maintenance), it so


 Like happens that multiple plants are being served by single planning plant.
Maintenance planner work in di�erent time zone. In such cases it is required to
have time zone functionality active for your system.

In order to run the business scenarios we need to maintain to time zone.

1. System time zone.


2. User time zone.

System time zone:

The time zone is the applicant of the client. STZAC is the transaction code where
we use to change the system time zone. It is not advisable to change the system
time zone as it takes a�ect across the client.

User time:

User time zone we need to de�ne in SU01 in the personal time zone under default
tab.

SAP speci�c behavior before activating the time zone.

See the below screenshots showing how the initial screen how Noti�cation screen
and Maintenance Order before activating Time Zone functionality.

Once after activating the Time Zone Functionality how the system is behaving.

Once after activating the time zone function we can able to see the UTC-10 icon in
the creation of Noti�cation screen. (Screenshot -1)

In Noti�cation creation we can able to see the user time zone as it is created on
10.04.2017 with time 15:03:31 as it is user time which was maintained in the user
pro�le. (Screenshot -2)

But if you see the screen shot taken from the action log we can see the system

time zone as 11.04.2017 which is today’s date of the system. (Screenshot -3)

Coming to the Maintenance Order

Once after activating the time zone function we can able to see the UTC-10 icon in
the creation of Maintenance Order screen. (Screenshot -1)

In Maintenance Order creation we can able to see the user malfunction time zone
as it is created on 10.04.2017 with time 15:58:31 as it is user time which was
maintained in the user pro�le. (Screenshot -2).

If we check the action log we can able to see the system time zone. (Screen
shot-3).

When we are doing the TECO we will see the dates as 10.04.2017 as it is the user
time zone while doing the TECO. (Screenshot-4)

Solution:

1. In order to get this requirement, we need to activate LOG_EAM_TZS-1 and


LOG_EAM_TZS-2.
2. After activating we need to do the required con�guration.
