Mr. Claudino Reflection

The first point that I found interesting in Mr. Claudino’s presentation was his emphasis

on biosafety in sports. I’ve recently heard a lot about leagues trying to make the game safer and

more player-friendly and it was cool to see him present that a little bit. I think biosafety is

something that is only becoming more prominent as the sport industry grows and individual

sports receive more exposure. It’s interesting to see COVID become part of the biosafety realm

as before it was more focused on the physical strain on athletes as opposed to preventing illness.

Mr. Claudino make it apparent that the biosafety aspect of sport is constantly changing on a

global stage, and we have only scratched the surface as to what we will see in the future.

The second emphasis that I found very intriguing was his part about E-Sports. For me, I

don’t immediately think of E-Sports as “sports”, but it seems like I should change my outlook on

the industry. It is crazy to see video games becoming such a major part of global sport

competition and its rapid growth only suggests that it is going to continue its momentum. Mr.

Claudino mentioned that E-Sports received nearly 70% increase in sponsorship in 2020, and if

that doesn’t emphasize its meteoric growth, I don’t know what does. It will definitely be very

interesting to see how E-Sports continues its growth and it will be an industry that I keep a closer

eye on now.

The final point that I found captivating was his part about blockchain in sports.

Blockchain has burst onto the scene and sports are now beginning to really invest in the potential

exposure and income that they might be able to gain from the usage of blockchain. Soon we

may even see blockchain currency accepted as a regular form of payment in venues and NFTs
being sold in gift shops as well. The implementation of blockchain can only bring in more life

and exposure to sports organizations and it currently seems like an untapped mine that we have

only begun to explore. It is truly mind blowing the various ways that blockchain can be utilized

and the versatility, that Mr. Claudino explained, it brings to sports.

The final thing that I found impactful was the emphasis that was put on networking and

how networking is a skill in today’s sports world. I agree that it is of the most importance to

network and create connections to grow in the world of sports and it was motivating to see Mr.

Claudino present about its importance and how almost fearless you must be to reach higher

places. Overall, I thought that Mr. Claudino’s presentation was very informative, and I was able

to take a lot of knowledge and advice away from his generously shared experience.
