1 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
I. Are highly rewarded workers, highly productive?
II. Does promotion lead to more pesponsibilities?
III. Can training lead to promotion of workers?
IV. Can participation in decision making motive workers?
V. By performing jobs independently, can it make them (worker) responsible?
VI. Can workers be encouraged through award for efficient performance?
VII. Can workers be encouraged by an example laid by the leaders?
VIII. Is there any likelihood that additional task responsibilities motivate workers?
1.2 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Managing requires the creation and maintenance of an environment in which individual works
though in group, towards the accomplishment of common goal & objectives a manager cannot
do without knowing what type of training needed for the employee to enhance productivity in
an organization.
The purpose of this research work therefore include
I. To review relevant theories of rewarding workers through incentive schemes.
II. To sample the role that incentive schemes have performed in an organization, whether they
have helped the organization realized their objectives set for themselves. Or not
III. To know how workers can be easily motivated through incentive schemes, aside salaries and
wages.
IV. To make recommendation so that management can make use of them to enhance productivity
for the achievement of organization goals & objectives.
V. To find out the various schemes that motivated wokers and to know the effects of the schemes
on productivity.
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
I. The research helps to know the degree of recognition given to the workers either through
participation in the government of the company through meetings or indirectly through
suggestions and other means.
II. Identification of ways by which can be trained.
III. It will also useful for gradates and under graduates in the field of Business Administration and
Management, Purchasing Supply, Marketing and other relative field as well as professional
managers since the information is based on the environment.
IV. The research would also be useful for managers to know that human beings are not machines,
they need to be motivated in order to achieve their aims as well as the achievement of
corporate objectives.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

This project tends to research into the various inactive provided for workers in addition to
wages and salaries in an organization with particular reference to Ewbank Nigeria plc.
