Para hablar de eventos que comenzaron y terminaron en el pasado (hace unas
horas, ayer, la semana pasada, el mes pasado, el año pasado, hace dos años, o
hace muchos, muchos años), usamos el tiempo pasado simple.

This morning, I walked my dog.

Yesterday, Tom went to the mall.

Last week, Susie took a math exam.

Last year, my parents and I traveled all around Spain.

 Para formar la forma de pasado de los verbos regulares , añadimos -ed , -d
o -ied :

• viaje - viajes ed

• miedo - miedo ed

• amor - amor d

• Al igual que - al igual que d

• Estudio - espárrago IED

• tratar - tri ed

• parada - sto pp ed

• Plan - pla nn ed

To form the past form of regular verbs, we add –ed, –d or –ied:


• travel – traveled
• fear – feared
• love – loved
• like – liked
• study – studied
• try – tried
• stop – stopped
• plan – planned
But watch out! There are irregular past forms: irregular verbs don’t end in –
ed, –d or –ied:

• eat – ate

• go – went

• be – was / were

• buy – bought

• say – said

• give – gave

¡Pero cuidado! Hay formas pasadas irregulares: los verbos irregulares no terminan en
–ed, –d o –ied:
comer - comió
ir - fue
ser - fue / fueron
comprar - comprar
decir - decir
dar - dar
tomar - tomó
For wh-questions, we use this formula:

Wh-word + did + verb + additional information + ?

Para las preguntas-wh, usamos esta fórmula:

Examples:
