Food Defense & Food Fraud

Food Defense
The organisation shall have a documented and annually
reviewed food defence threat assessment procedure in
place to identify potential threats and prioritise food
defence mitigation measures.
Food Fraud prevention
The organisation shall have a documented food fraud
vulnerability assessment procedure in place to identify
potential vulnerabilities and prioritise food fraud
mitigation measures.

Audit Execution

• The initial certification audit is always carried out


on-site and is conducted in two stages
• The audit is a full management system audit
• The on-site audit can include the use of
computer aided audit techniques (CAAT)
• The CB shall have a process for the use of
CAAT during on-site audits
Audit Report

• FSSC 22000 will introduce a mandatory audit


report template
• A full audit report has to be uploaded in the
FSSC 22000 database (ADS)
• ViaSyst will offer technical solutions for
uploading audit reports
Scope extensions

• Catering (ISO/TS 22002-2) is planned to be


added to the FSSC 22000 scope of certification
in version 4
• FSSC 22000 is working on Storage and
Distribution
– A PRP is being developed facilitated by NEN
– Scope extension is to be expected 2017 Q1

Transition period
