2nd Letter Subject: Full Grant Letter

Dear Mr. Villafana:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry
(CDC/ATSDR) received your August 18, 2021, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request on
August 18, 2021, seeking:

“…the full VAERS data accumulated and collect by the CDC on the *deaths* caused by Covid
vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, including of associated date vaccine was
taken by individual, VAERS ID, location of individual death, age range, and full-description of
narrative of the death as well as lab work (if any).”

The information you seek is publicly available on the agency's website. Please note that VAERS is a
reporting system; data is entered by users, not by CDC. Once entered, the data is stagnant, it is not altered or
updated by the person who reported it or by CDC staff.

Current information about VAERS and COVID-19, including the number of deaths reported after receiving a
COVID-19 vaccination, are available at this link and are current as of July 26, 2021:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html.

We also suggest that you read and review this important information about the VAERS system and the data it
contains: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/vaers.html.

And finally, please note that VAERS data is publicly accessible via this link:
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/ensuringsafety/monitoring/vaers/access-VAERS-data.html.
It is important to realize that no potentially personally identifying data is available to the public.

If you need any further assistance or would like to discuss any aspect of the records provided please contact
either our FOIA Requester Service Center at 770-488-6399 or our FOIA Public Liaison at
770-488-6277.

Sincerely,

Roger Andoh
