Shiddat : The Music Society of USME DTU

Greetings from Shiddat. We hope all of you have filled the Google form

Following are the audition rules for your talent.

The auditions will be conducted on Saturday, 12th December 2020.
We will be using Google meets as the platform.
Your time slot will be mentioned in a PDF very soon.
Please read carefully and feel free to enquire in case of any doubts.

VOCALISTS
 Vocalists need to prepare 2 songs
 One of their own choice and another from the given list.
 Vocalists who have applied for both Indian and Western will be performing 4 songs, 2 of their
own choice and 2 from the list.
 There will be a basic interview
 You will not get more than 2 minutes per song
 Face of student should be clearly visible at the time of auditions.
 Use of backing track/karaoke is strictly prohibited.
 However, use of all kinds of instruments are allowed (including Tanpura Droid App)

INSTRUMENTALISTS
 Students have to perform 2 songs
 Students can choose to perform any song or their original composition
(original compositions will be rewarded with bonus points).
 You will not get more than 2 minutes per song/piece.
 Face of student should be clearly visible.
 No background music is allowed.
 People who don’t have their instruments should send a video to shiddat.dtu@gmail.com and
should be present for a basic interview according to their time slot.

RAPPERS/BEATBOXERS

• The rap has to be self-written. (rappers)

• Students have to prepare and minimum of 1 piece and a maximum of 2 pieces.
• You will not get more than 2 minutes per pieces
• Face of student should be clearly visible
• You can use beat in background (rappers)
