Grade 8 Force, Motion, and Energy
II. Materials: 1 pc. ball of any kind (medium size), 1 m string, 1pc. rod/round
stick, Manila paper or cartolina
III. Procedure
1. Let one (1) member of the group hold the rod and arrange the
materials as shown in Figure 1. (See to it that the string in the rod is tied
loosely to make it freely moving).

2. Cover the ball with coloring paint, push (at F) the ball straight
forward (with respect to the student pushing the ball). Observe the movement
of the ball. Trace the path of the ball on the paper.
3. Based on step 3, describe the motion of the ball when the string
was cut or the rod/stick was lifted?
