Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

This chapter presents the analysis and interpretation of data gathered for the study

in determining the “Acceptability of Basella Rubra Linn as an Herbal Soap.” Data

were presented in table form and were organized according to the research problems.

Table 1 shows the pH level test of Basella Rubra Linn herbal soap. The test

showed various neutral pH levels in different test parameters. The result in the test done

showed that the pH level of the three varying concentration is ranging between 7 and 8.

The result is supported by the study of Jose Tarun et al. (2014), entitled “Evaluation of
pH of Bathing Soaps and Shampoos for Skin and Hair Care”. This study cited the study

done by Tyebkhan G, in which pH paper was used for measuring the pH of

soaps/cleansers it was found that the soaps commonly used by the population at large

have pH ranging between 7 and 9. Also, only 3 samples of those tested had a pH in

keeping with the normal skin.

Table 6 shows the Pearson correlation of Basella Rubra Linn as herbal soap in

terms of curing time. It shows the time of curing of different concentration and its weight

when it is cured. The concentration of 70% Alugbati Sap and 30% soap base has cured

for 4 hours with a weight of 25 grams. The concentration of 50% Alugbati Sap and 50%

soap base has cured for 3 hours with a weight of 45 grams and the last concentration of

40% Alugbati Sap and 60% soap base has cured for 2 hours with a weight of 60 grams.

The person correlation of the three different concentrations with varying time of curing

and weight had the value of -0.99 which is a negative correlation and which shows a very

high correlation and very dependable relationship.
