Car Crash

Driver dead in Highway 32

On February 20, 2021, at an estimated time, 10:30 p.m, a 43 years old man driver of a delivery
truck died after his car bumped on a road barrier after losing the truck’s break on Sunday.

The authorities identified the victim as Michael Bautista, a delivery truck driver of a cigarette
company.

The police said that the victim who was driving a four-wheeler Foton truck was travelling to the
curve of Highway 32 when he starts to lose control of the truck because of a failing air break.
Eventually, the road barrier received the impact of a rushing truck that leads to the death of the
victim.

The victim sustained serious injuries after hitting his head to the truck’s dashboard and was
rushed by the paramedics to the Enloe Medical Center, the nearest hospital to the scene of the
incident.

The accident was reportedly caused by the failure of the brake of the truck.

Shooting

Security guard dead at Wilson Street

On February 23, 2021, in the evening, A 53-year-old man was shot in Wilson Street in
Grangeville outside the Fandango Bar & Grill after he resisted a robbery by an unknown man.

The authorities identified the victim as Peter Wickham a security guard at the bar. The witnesses
say that the suspect immediately shoots the security guard before going straight to the cashier to
get the money. The victim was shot one at the head and one at the body that causes him to
instantly die. The police were currently investigating the scene and gathering information to
track down the merciless suspect.

The suspect in a shooting incident at Wilson Street was arrested

On February 25, 2021, the suspect in the murder robbery case was arrested in the name of
Frederick Johnson, 32.

According to Lt. Jane Ortlieb the head chief investigator of the Centerville Police Department,
Frederick Johnson was an ex-convict with the case of theft and an attempted homicide. The
authorities were able to confirm that Frederick is the culprit with the help of security cameras
inside the bar. Investigator was able to confirm it was Frederick after his tattoo on his arm
matches up with the tattoo in the CCTV footage. At the moment Frederick Johnson is held in the
local prison while the family of the victim is still in grief and is ready to file a case.

Suspect Frederick Johnson will be facing a series of file case

February 27, 2021, suspect Frederick Johnson is expected to face a stack of file case against him
at the court.

As Chief Lt. Jane Ortlieb said that Mr Frederick Johnson will be arraign at Centerville District
Courthouse tomorrow at exactly 10 AM. Until now Frederick Johnson refuses to give his
comments regarding the alleged case, he said that he will start talking if he is already at the court.

House Fire

Row House Caught fire

Early in the morning of February 23, 2021, a Rowhouse was burning in the section of Cedar
Glen.

Deputy Fire Marshal Larry Johnson tells that an electrical short circuit started the fire that
quickly spread because of the wooden structure of the house. The firefighter fought the fire for
almost 1 hour before it is completely restrained. Thankfully no civilian was hurt during the fire,
only the roof and some appliances are the casualties.

School Board Meeting

Centerville School Board making a plan against water damage

At the auditorium of Centerville High School, the Centerville school board gathered at 7 p.m. on
the 13th of February.

The meeting begins with a discussion of ongoing cleanup at McKinley Elementary School, and
how the school are going to deal with water damage due to the previews heavy rains and
flooding that happens in the city of Parkesburg section. The board proceed by suggesting their
proposal on how to immediately resolve the problem.

Plane Crash

Private plane crashes near Centerville Airport

The incident happens near the Centerville Airport where a facility used mostly by private pilots
to fly a single-engine craft.
Initial investigation said that the crash is caused by a human error. Reports said that the plane
was full of the wrong jet fuel that caused the plane engine to malfunction mid-air.
The 48-year-old pilot was the only person on the plane and was mildly injured. He suffered
injures with his arms and face. The injuries were not considered life-threatening, the officers
said.

Obituary

Evelyn Jackson, Age 79

Evelyn Jackson was an English High School teacher and taught about 43 years at Centerville
Highs School before retiring in her late 60s. She was known for her kind-heartedness and her
willingness to stand up for students. Evelyn’s passion for education was the same from her first
day teaching until her last.

Evelyn was praised for being passionate about the subject she taught in classes. She taught in
composition, American literature, and poetry. Her family and students will remember her not just
as a compassionate teacher but as a good person.

CEO of Weddell Widgets give a motivating speech to 100 successful


entrepreneurs

An audience of about 100 local businessmen and women of the Centerville Chamber of
commerce gathered to hold its monthly luncheon.

The guest speaker to give a speech to these businessmen and women is Alex Weddell, the chief
executive of Weddell Widgets, a family-owned manufacturing firm and one of the city’s largest
employers. The event takes place at the Hotel Lux at 6 in the evening.

Centerville Community College Eagles vs. Ipswich Community College


Spartans; Soccer Game of the Year
The two rival teams meet again at the finals to compete for the state conference title.

Both of these teams are well-known for being well-deserved candidate in the said soccer title.
According to the Centerville Community College Eagles’ team coach, they didn’t feel the
pressure of being the defending champion of the league, because they are confident to get the
back-to-back win. Meanwhile, the Ipswich Community College Spartans hope to get the
championship despite being an underdog. The Ipswich Community College Spartans appear in
the last soccer league in the third place but they said that this is the time where they surely come
up on top.
