Course Title: The Teaching Profession


Course Pre- Requisite: None
Course Credit: 3 units

Course Description: This course deals with the teacher as a person and as a professional within the context of national and global teachers and educational
philosophies. It will include Professional ethics, core values, and awareness of professional rights, privileges and responsibilities as well as the
teachers’ roles in the society as a transformative agent of change.

Course Outcomes:
CO 1. Discuss the role of teachers in the classroom, community and society and networking with other organizations and projection on

CO 2. Discuss the historical background of the Philippines educational system, its legal/constitutional bases and educational legislations.
CO 3. Identify and discuss the teacher-related laws that exercise teachers’ rights and privileges in performing duties and responsibilities
competently.
CO 4. Describe multi-disciplinary diversity as an element of global education and the role of the teachers in addressing diversity among
learners, and global application of technology in the classroom.
